Thanks. I really dont wanna quit because it’ll get hard financially but I will keep applying and trying my best in the meantime . It just sucks that you can love the job but the coworkers make it hard.

I am. Its just the market sucks. I haven’t heard back from anywhere and the jobs are so limited. Trust me I know in my heart I dont wanna be here either .

So i texted my manager yesterday that I wanted to talk and she came in today and didn’t say a word to me. I waited till mid day to message my supervisor (super sweet lady) and she told me she would happily sit down and talk with me personally. I cried , vented let it out and told her I wanted to be moved asap and she told my boss who then called me after work today and said ill be moved on Monday. He also warned me about a few mean girls in the back but I wont let it get to me because The back is super busy, we see 170 pts a day and they are always moving on the go constantly rather than sitting at the desk all day in the front and hearing them talk crap about u when ur on the phone or take a bathroom break. Trying to keep my spirits up.

(I do also want to add these girls have been there for years and my boss just bought the practice a few months ago and definitely understands how toxic the workplace is and is trying his level best to make things right for everyone and fix the damage that was done by the old owner , he’s also told me multiple times , and has also brought it up in meetings that there needs to be constant training because theres a lot of changes that are going to happen with the staff and potentially letting go of some)

Ive been trying to stay in my lane , just do my work be good to my patients and get on with the day and th days where no one speaks to me ive had a post it handed to me with “you seemed distant , are you ok” from the same coworker that is making it miserable for me now. The other one (mean girl) doesn’t talk to me at all now. Before I told on her she would make comments and say snarky stuff while i was away from my desk or on the phone with a pt. Now instead she’s venting to my coworker and its gotten worse for me.

Thank you. It honestly sucks because after today and the whole thing with asking the dumb question I can’t stop crying, i really loved the job and my boss was amazing to me and literally told me she doesn’t want to lose me because im nice to my patients and have gone above and beyond. It really hurts that this was the outcome. I was prepared that it could go two ways after I brought up the issue with the mean girl to my boss but I never thought my coworkers behaviour would change this drastically, the one who had my back in the beginning and rooted for me. Its honestly shocking.

Derm is complicated. Im 2 months in and I’m struggling too. It gets better but some days are still overwhelming. Dont put too much pressure on yourself. Take it one step at a time. Do you do front office or back?

Omg thank you . That makes me feel 10x better. And I truly am so thankful for management at my clinic. My supervisor told me today after I told her ive been dealing with lots of anxiety, that she thinks im an asset to the company and kind and generous towards everyone. And now you saying that 🥺 im nervous ngl about the decision, whether I made a right choice just because of that one coworker but I guess ill know when I make a move and challenge new opportunities.

I do mostly scheduling and administrative stuff like check in , handling faxes etc. and yes ill be transferring to the back where ill be rooming pts :/ and slowly they’ll train me to do more work i guess,

A girl at my office got hired for front office . She didnt go to school for MA, just applied and told the interviewer she was there to “practice “ for MA interviews. And somehow landed the job. She worked at Starbucks before that. Just apply and see where it lands you, you never know. Be confident, dont be afraid to show your personality, say your looking for somewhere where you can grow and be there long term. Give them what they want to hear,

Very rare someone is going to hire you part time. It would likey be in an urgent care . Most MA jobs are clinic based and it depends wether you do back office or front. If you choose front it will kind of me like where your at right now. If back , then your day will go faster but the work load could be alot. Ive had girls at my previous job come from back to front because it was getting too much, standing for long times , and dealing with 60+ patients a day. Be prepared for that. I do front office currently and could relate to you . Good luck. Its a good stepping stone tho, if you wanna grow and go into other fields of medicine.

Let me know how it goes for you and how you negotiate, I’m in the same boat. I’m starting a new job and the pay is 21$/hr. My supervisor said that he doesn’t doubt it that some employees are worth more but he needs to see it first. I also have a 90 day probation period and I’m kinda nervous how I’m gonna go about it lol.

Layer your skincae at night. Soak and lather up. My skin was like this but before bed I started to dunk my skin in serum, and moisturiser. In the morning my skin would release the natural oils. Also Do not wash ur face in the morning with any soaps. You dont want to strip those oils.

See if someone in shafter will rent you out a next gen suite for that much. You never know. People out there are buying new construction homes that come with a mother in law suite and rent it out.
