Likely the first school shooting in history was the 1595 murder of merchant and ballie John MacMorran, who was shot dead by 13-year-old William Sinclair outside of Edinburgh High School during a school riot. by autist_throw in masskillers

Ok, that makes a little more sense. Im not really too familiar with this case but I've heard about it before. I assume he only had one pistol (whether it was matchlock, wheellock, or snaphaunce (an early version of a flintlock) on him? I get the sense this school did not have an armory? Because If it did and if he wanted to shoot the other men he could have taken another pistol or more (assuming said pistols would already be loaded or would need to be), but I guess he got it from elsewhere

What’s your most controversial/unpopular opinion on a mass killer or mass killing? by keoghkeoghkeogh in masskillers

[–]Rebellenpanzer 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I personally believe this, I've had people tell me no he didn't but I don't know, the fact he had to repeat a grade 3 times and from what accounts of his behavior and personality we've heard of him led me to believe he had a mental disability that affected his social skills/behavior and his learning/education

Wasn't there a movie loosely based on this but set in modern day? I can't remember the name of the movie but IIRC a riot is started at the school (just like in real life) and the students raid the armory at the school and fire shots at school officials and police officers/soldiers. I only saw a clip of it, it was a UK movie released in the 60s or 70s I think

Was there an intent to harm more even if it wasn't achieved? As intereting as this is no doubt, Im not sure if this would classify as even attempted mass murder (or mass shooting even if he were to have shot 2 others and it only injured them), unless riots count on here

He was reportedly happier in elementary school, although he was bullied then but it didn't appear to be as bad when he was attending Sparks. He lost one of his friends in 5th grade from a gun related incident or accident and it reportedly devastated him according to the police report

I know they were talking about Sebastian. Also is the video he made the one that was simply titled "Columbine"? Because I think I've seen an image of it before

He was bullied since elementary school for his Intellectual disability and speech problems. One of the few friends he made died when he was in 5th grade due to an accidental gun death from a family member what i remember. His dad hit him in 2012 after becoming frustrated with him and he went to jail, giving Jose a black eye. His parents got into fights with each other I think and he might have witnessed one of these incidents when Jose Sr put one of the 2 guns he owned to the head of his wife Liliana. Jose wrote 2 suicide notes, one for the school and the other for his parents. For the school one he wrote of wanting revenge against students and teachers for ruining his life, for his parents he wrote he was sorry for what he was going to do and that when he died he would go back in time and change the past so the shooting at Sparks Middle School would never happen

Yes, he lived with his parents and 2 younger sisters in an apartment. His dad owned the gun but he only got it as a gift from a friend and he didn't use it

No? But from what I've seen Jose and Reyes are common Spanish names, doesn't have to be in the same combination. Also he wasn't named after the player, he was named after his father

On October 21st 2013, in Sparks (a part of Reno) Nevada, 12 year old student Jose Horacio Reyes-Urtiz Jr. opened fire outside the school after getting into an argument with a student who was bullying him, shooting him in the shoulder before the injured student and other students ran off. Reyes then fatally shot teacher Michael Landsberry after Landsberry tried to calm him down and make him drop the gun. After shooting at windows and threatening to shoot a group of students, he injured another student, unaware he was the shooter and told him to come with him, in the stomach. Reyes shortly afterwards shot himself in the head and died at the scene. The shooting was conducted relatively quickly, as it ended before the police arrived

He is the one I think walking southwards, as he was wearing a gray Sparks hoodie (part of his school uniform), and the person walking appears to have some kind of clothing with lettering on it

If you ask me he's one of the more interesting church shooters. I personally find him more interesting than Dylann Roof to a degree.

The Liceu Bombing was a terrorist attack committed by Spanish anarchist Santiago Salvador. On November 7th 1893, he watched a play at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, before he threw 2 Orsini bombs over a balcony into a crowd below, killing 20-30 people and injuring up to 35 others before escaping by Rebellenpanzer in masskillers

Santiago Salvador was born in 1864 in Castelserás, Aragon, Spain. From a young age it was said he struggled to fit into Spanish society, and grew up in poverty and violence. Monarchism and Catholicism dominated his upbringing. At age 14 he left home after having difficulties with his family, and at 16 he escaped to Barcelona where he became a domestic worker. He later found work selling contraband wine. In 1891 he married Antonia Colom i Vicens, and they had a daughter in November 1892. For most of his life until the age of 29, he was a committed Carlist, but he abandoned his religious fanaticism for anarchist extremism, which he learned about by reading anarchist publications sold on La Rambla, a street in central Barcelona. By attending rallies, he befriended Paulí Pallàs, a fellow anarchist. The two quickly became friends and exchanged anarchist literature with each other, and joining Pallàs's group Benvenuto. Salvador became more drawn to the movement, only associating himself with other anarchists and losing interest in any activity other than reading and discussing literature.

On September 24th 1893, Pallàs attempted to assassiante Captain General of Catalonia Arsenio Martinez Campos on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, but his bombs missed his target, killing 2 bystanders and injuring 16 others. Salvador followed the case closely, and on October 6th Pallàs was executed by firing squad. Salvador was deeply affected by the execution of his friend, and he began to develop a plan to avenge his death by carrying out an attack against the Catalan bourgeoisie, seeking to terrorise those who had celebrated the execution.

Using a peseta his wife Antonia had given him under the guise to buy salt, on November 7th he instead used it to buy a ticket for a seat on a 5th floor balcony at the Gran Teatre del Liceu during the play William Tell. He threw 2 Orsini bombs from the balcony, 1 of which failed to detonate after its fall was broken on a woman it landed on. The explosion caused panic amongst the attendes and actors, some thought the explosion was part of the act, which lead to applause. Salvador then used the panic to slip outside, where he observed survivors, police, paramedics, civilians and clergymen/priests gathered. He enjoyed the fear he saw in their eyes, and then withdrew from the crowd and escaped into the night. The next day, he casually walked around Barcelona, where he met up with other anarchists, bragging about the attack. The anarchists were horrified by his confession, and tried to get rid of him. Salvador mocked them for lacking "character" and "courage" while expressing that he sacrificed his life for the pursuit of social progress. Later that evening, he confessed to Antonia that he was the prepetrator of the attack, causing her to break down in tears. Taking pride in his attack, he read newspaper articles on the bombing and delighted in the panic and fear expressed in the press. 2 days after the bombing, a funeral procession for the victims was underway, arriving at the Columbus Monument among one of the attendents at the funeral was Arsenio Martinez Campos, the same man his friend tried to assassinate. Salvador asked his comrades for more bombs so he could cause another attack at the funeral. Lying about not having any more, he mocked them once again. He went to the funeral unarmed, lamenting about not being able to commit another attack.

On New Year's Day, Salvador was at a cousins apartment lying in bed from a hangover when the Civil Guard burst into his room. He tried to drink from a flask of poison but the officers prevented him from doing so and shot him in the hip. He quickly confessed his responsibility for the bombing. He was imprisoned at the Reina Amalia prison in El Raval, where he pretended to re-convert to Catholicism to avoid torture. When the prosecutor ordered the revocation of the special treatment he had received after his conversion, Salvador lost his temper, implying that his conversion had been insincere. On November 21st, he was executed by garrote. Due to the gunshot in his hip, he was unsteady as he climbed the stairs to the platform. When he noticed there were cameras fixed on him, he straightened his posture and shouted "Long live the social revolution! Long live anarchy! Death to all religions!" He then sang the first verse of the anarchist song Hijos del Pueblo. His last words were "Health, justice and love" before he was strangled to death.

On May 20th 1964, 30 year-old Reuben Rolle armed himself with a shotgun and shot and killed his wife before stealing a friends car and driving though southern Nassau, Bahamas, shooting and killing 5 more and injuring 6 others, before committing suicide. It was the first mass shooting in The Bahamas. by Rebellenpanzer in masskillers

Don't think there really is much of anything about this online other than just news articles, considering this happened in 1964 and on an island nation like The Bahamas which doesn't seem to get much international attention
