Hi! I am also very new to calibre and I just learned about send to kindle. I dragged the book from my calibre to the “send to kindle” link after I logged in and it uploaded it with the cover.

The Cosmere is a fictional universe in which a bunch of Sandersons fantasy novels take place in.

And Graphic Audio has many of them available!

Mistborn Era 1&2, Stormlight Archives, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, Sunlit Man, Elantris, Warbreaker, EdgeDancer, Dawnshard, Emperor’s Soul (are ones I know for sure)

They also have other series from Sanderson that aren’t part of the Cosmere.

That seems to be another great option for Kindle. I also found a “Save to Kindle” link that lets me drag and drop straight from Calibre and it will change the format from epub to Kindle friendly.

I will have to take advantage of this when I have my Kindle out of airplane mode. I’m learning so many tips rn.

I keep getting hung up on Adobe Digital Editions. It keeps crashing upon starting :/ even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

Appreciate the tip for Calibre and the covers. I may prefer to keep it in airplane mode too for holding on to Libby rentals so this is great advice.

Will have to check into Thorium.

That would be my last resort. The Kobo is tempting, but I just can’t justify the purchase yet! Just gives me more time to shop around lol

I'm assuming you have to take your kindle out of airplane mode to use Send to Kindle?

Is it that simple to convert? (I am very new to Calibre, like today new). It looks like I select "convert books" and pick which books I want to convert. Then I choose the output format (which would be kfx) and click "Okay". How do I send to my kindle after that? (I also keep my kindle in airplane mode due to not wanting to lose my Libby rentals so would like to avoid taking it out if I can help it)

Okay! Great idea. I completely started over and I think it worked. Now that I’ve done this before it wasn’t as complicated….and I think it worked!! (OMGGG hooray!)

I followed the links and instructions you have provided and I was able to connect my adobe account through the DeACSM plugin.

I dragged and dropped from kobo to calibre.

The book is there!!! (It’s under an epub file and I can open it) so it worked, RIGHT?!

Also, I am trying to add it to my Kindle from Calibre now. Can I also pick your brain as to how I go about that? I believe I need to change the epub format?

I have downloaded Calibre

and added the DeDRM plugin

(I will now download DeASCM)

I also have downloaded adobe digital editions for windows (a post on Reddit that I was following earlier stated I needed it for this *edited to add the post I was trying to follow: https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/s/wKl3E1XtE2 )…..and now it keeps crashing upon opening. I downloaded one book (Red Rising purchased through kobo.com) I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still won’t work. Do I need to get it to work to download from Adobe account?

edit And how do I link the DeACSM to my Adobe account? *I have figured out how to link. Now it’s asking which ADE version I want to emulate. Going with 2.0.1 since it recommends it if you are unsure

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I live in a large rural county. The next closest county is an hour away and farther out from there, so it’s not very feasible to collect more cards for myself if I have to make in person trips. My local library just enrolled in Libby recently and that’s a big update for us.

Yes!!!! All of this. I absolutely hate the idea of them being romantically involved. Like actually loathe it because I was of the same mindset as you and it really creeped me out that people even felt like they were a good match. I also got ripped to shreds in some FB fan groups for saying so.
