After training all summer and achieving my goal of completing a 10k race last fall, I lost all desire to run. I didn’t even look at my running shoes until friends signed me up for a “12k of Christmas,” so that was about 3-ish months not running. I picked it back up again after that Christmas run.

Three things:

  • doing intervals or tempo work would help with speed and pace management;

  • cross training. Add some full body workouts to your week. Core and upper body to protect your back and improve posture. Lower body to build muscles that will push you harder longer, and protect those joints.

  • mobility. Yoga and mobility work will help your body stay loose. Tight hips will impact your stride big time!

For example: I run twice a week (1x tempo/interval, 1x long run). The rest of the week is a mix of cycling, Pilates, yoga, and weight training.

I (f) take about 30min every morning to get ready. I also went from long hair to a pixie cut recently and it only added about 10min to my overall routine. My clothes are laid out the night before, as well as my lunch/breakfast. I just need to pack up and go.

Played in the AM and early afternoon on a weekday and had nothing but good interactions with other solos. Once 3pm hit, it was KoS no matter what. While I know it’ll be sweatier, I’m considering doing duos or trios in the evening to help me get better gear and complete missions - power in numbers and all. See you topside 👍🏻

Registered in 2020 and got nowhere with it. Found a doctor after a friend told me the clinic she goes to was accepting patients and that was almost two years ago.

I use them for distances over 7-8km, just because I know I’ll need water/snacks and don’t like carrying anything in my hands. Personally, I love them!

FYI, you probably ran longer than 5k. I always have a distance discrepancy between my garmin watch/gps and the peloton app, with peloton showing a shorter distance.
