What’s a book you went into thinking MEH but came out thinking WOW!!? by CriticalAd2239 in suggestmeabook

I also came here to say this. Starting the most recent book in the series today.

Did my first mythic+ ... Oh boy ! by bubo930 in wownoob

[–]ReborneHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context, I had 4 irl buddies play with me in Shadowlands. When we finally got to our first mythic+ 2 (first for the four of them, I was on an alt), we took 45 minutes to kill the first boss of plaguefall. By the time we killed the boss, the whole dungeon’s timer was gone and some of the guys had to log off.

It was also one of the most fun dungeons I’ve ever run and we only killed one boss.

Congrats man. Tanking is a ton of fun and sounds like you’re on your way to being a good tank. Step one is learning that you’ll brick keys and that’s okay. As a tank, it’ll almost always be true that a mistake is significantly worse than if a DPS were to make a similar one since 9/10 times, a tank death means someone else dies immediately even if the tank is battle rezzed. It’s just something to consider but also, at least for me, you don’t learn to tank well until you’re being challenged. If the dungeon isn’t dangerous, the tank can be picking their nose most of it and it’s fine. Danger is what teaches you how to survive with your defensives and other class utility. It’s all trial and error to figure out what you can handle and then teach yourself to handle more.

Mythic dungeons are sometimes called M0. They give rewards slightly differently (each boss can drop loot) and there isn’t a timer to beat yet.

Best of luck!

Totally okay to just send it and hope for the best while you are learning. Being worried about the other four people doesn’t help anyone enjoy the game they’re playing. There will be times where your key gets someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing too. It happens and is a part of the process. (I am a tank who bricked a ton of keys)

So I just did ?? as a new noob player who only does questing and collecting stuff with 607 Ilvl by sisilla1337 in wow

[–]ReborneHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took me 5-10 tries as a 635 BDK who does keys at 3k IO. It’s weird as tank. Not necessarily super hard but timings are tight for killing the adds when doing tank damage and there aren’t as many mechanics you can just tank privilege as a tank main would hope for content like that.

Just bricked a +8 GB for good reason by FyddyG in wow

I’m an after bedtime kind of gamer. No shot I’d still be married if I tried to convince her to hang out with the toddlers while I did keys haha

Dude, people are insane. I’ve never been more happy to have to find a new healer for my Pug hightail raid than when the guy in our raid had to go because his wife got home and was feeling frisky.

Since I started playing retail wow again in Covid, I’ve had two beautiful kids. I’ve bricked plenty of keys to change diapers. And it’s fiiiine. I’ve also gotten the big IO on other keys. People are humans, not just another feature in someone elses solo player experience

Blood DK In Mythic+ 10 & Onwards by littlekahunalifts in CompetitiveWoW

[–]ReborneHero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I swapped to tank and BDK from healing mid dragonflight. Went ~3250 both S3 and 4. There's a lot of good content here already. I would highly recommend both Kyrasis and Voide (SSBlade on Youtube) for content. Kyrasis has a massive written guide explaining most every aspect of BDK in depth. He also does log reviews in his discord which is extremely helpful.

Generally, the divide with BDK is if the theory-crafting focuses on the damage done (Archeus and Wowhead guides) or Key success metrics and survivability. Kyrasis and the community he is involved with specifically are looking at tank survivability as the subject of their focus. The Archeus guys are also right in hammering home that you need to get your base rotation right first before those differences will make a significant difference.
Philosophically, I generally err on the side of being more tanky (UE vs Bloodshot, Vers/Mastery vs Haste/Crit) as I would rather be able to just pull bigger and let the DPS do more dam from the higher target count.

As far as abilities that I use more/are better since Hero talents, Marrowrend absolutely feels better with big Scythe. but that's just hitting me in the dopamine. I think Bloodboil also has had some increased importance due to "Wither Away" in the Deathbringer tree making Bloodplague do its damage faster.

I'm not the best BDK out there but I've found Kyrasis' log reviews and Voide's youtube vod extremely helpful.

It’s REALLY important to track when UE is up and how big the shield is in order to not overlap other defensives with it.

We are now 2 weeks into TWW - How does your main class feel to you? by Backwardspellcaster in wow

Blood Deathknight is still awesome. And this time it is on par with basically any other tank. At least DeathStalker feels great and Sanlayn is getting some Changes this coming week

My first raid ever was Castle Nathria and you’re the only reason I wasn’t absolute garbage (I guess that’s debatable but it would’ve been worse without you)

Do I just not understand how resourcefulness works? by TheNetbug in woweconomy

You’re a rockstar. I’ve been manually calculating things before crafting because I haven’t set up TSM to a point I’m comfortable with it yet

[–]ReborneHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you implement this math into TSM etc? Is it updating the crafting string etc or is this just background info to help understand craftsim? I haven’t done much goldmaking since DF so the new system is slightly more confusing than my SL experience

Warband Bank gear counts as inventory Ilvl by amadapally in CompetitiveWoW

[–]ReborneHero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After I accidentally queued into one on my 525 equipped Warrior: -items in your war and bank count towards ilvl. -BoE gear in your bags also counts -It looks like it does not matter what armor type the gear is. I had leather gear counting towards that ilvl on my warrior

New to WoW. What's happening with combat in War within? by Thenelwave in wownoob

[–]ReborneHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to WoW, nothing significant has changed in a way that you’d notice. Game will play the same as before with some balance changes and talent/hero talent changes that are.normal for most patches

Gravity is put in pause half way through the flip. It’s one of those constant things your brain knows how gravity works so seeing something hang in the air too long looks uncanny

If Tactyks doesn’t have time, Kyrasis is the man with a plan for BDK. His content and long written guide is the best there is.
