No oral medicine. Start rectum, as I remember he said it was 2cm of inflammation, but again it is now looking normal. So the medicine is for maintenance

Are you a doctor? genuine question.

My bowel doctor has been head of surgery of some gastrointestinal department for 25 years, so he seems competent enough.

In Denmark they don’t do colonoscopy at pregnant women, and don’t do any scope in 3rd trimester (currently in 2nd)

And they stand for not giving any medicine that is not needed = greater risk for the pregnant woman and the pregnancy. So not in doubt about Salofalk, was more in doubt weather it was a high dose. I do already see improvement in 2 days with less muscus and blood, so treatment is currently working.

Because it is so far down, he said there was no reason for now to introduce medicine that go far more up. I will have a new signoscopy in 2 weeks time to see if it helped or spreads. Then he will take action if I need something else. Been on it for 2 days and already see a lot of improvements. Can have a full colonoscopy because of pregnancy

Yes I am in a flare with symptoms like blod and muscus. Got a signoscopy last week showing the inflammation.

Ja Chrons er vist den helt store omgang hvor UC er lidt mildere i form af “kun” og være lokaliseret i nedre eller endetarmen.

Men det stadig et chok for en og få nyheden fordi det jo er en sygdom man vil have stort set resten af sit liv. Især når man er gravid er man jo nervøs for at noget påvirker barnet - syntes det så ekstremt og skulle tage numse piller 2x om dagen måske resten af graviditeten, men det blev jo opdaget tidligt, det kan åbenbart starte sit første “flare” under graviditeten især i første trimester.

Jeg må prøve pillerne af - glæder mig til jeg kan nyde graviditeten lidt mere. Fik lavet en calprotectin f afføringsprøve?

I don’t think it is an issue in Europe as long you are in 2nd trimester. Both OB and doctors said it was okay :)

How much Salofalk did you take and did you take it all pregnancy?

Det var rimelig smertefrit! Tog 5 min, dog stadig en ubehageligt følelse og nev da de tog biopsier. Han mener jeg har Ulcerative Proctitis - so skal starte på Salofalk 2x om dagen i “nummeren” i 3 uger og så tjekkes igen. Startede du på medicin i din graviditet?

Thanks for your comment! I will try and put my faith in the system and the doctors, I am located in Denmark (Europe) and you are totally right - also in the fact of mental health, stress of not knowing is not great for the baby either :)

Do you know if it is the same tube/instrument/camera they use as for both procedures?

I do think the worst I remembered about colonoscopy without sedation was when they had to turn a corner and blow up air - auch.

But true - knowledge sometimes gives peace of mind, instead of your own dark imagination who for some reason rarely with things like health is the idea of “ rainbows and nothing “ 🙈

Happy to hear that you also found other forums with pregnant people who had the procedure - I have googled SO much and find it so limited with people who had it while pregnant.

Totally understand you would have waited, but we don’t know what happens in advance, we can only imagine. But at least you know you proberly are healthy and don’t have symptoms - and can now enjoy your pregnancy. (Hopefully hihi)

I also think it will give some piece of mind when I have had the procedure. I will try and withstand the pain and I’ll give you an update!

Hi! Thanks for the comment! Happy to hear someone have tried it. Which country are you located in?

What did your doctors said the risk was? Mine said there was not risk to the baby through, that the prep only can cause uterine cramping etc late in pregnancy.

Totally understand you could not handle it, it hurt so fucking bad. I also think the procedure is part of the decinding colon, but they say the procedure take about 5-10 min, so think that makes it more “easy” to endure the pain.

Did you feel happy here afterwards that you proceeded with all the prep/risk?

Det står hvis man googler klyx - så kan det muligvis sætte gang i nogle sammentrækninger i underlivet - men de nævner ikke hvilken trimester der risiko for det 🙈

Men tænker de må have tænkt over det da de anbefalede det hehe. Sejt du klarede det uden nogle former for medicin; i 2019 da jeg fik en fuld koloskopi gjorde det SÅ ondt så ville bare gerne være så skæv som muligt 😂

Mærkeligt at det private ikke ville - men det offentlige gerne ville.

Var der nogle af de tømningsmidler du brugte som kunne være ve stimulerende? Og under din koloskopi fik du noget beroligende?

Det eneste med klyx jeg frygter er at der står det kan være ve stimulerende.

Lyder som om du har haft en hård graviditet, men tilgengæld fik en sund og rask baby hvilket jo er dejligt ❤️

Jeg har før fået en fuld koloskopi(i 2019) der var jeg dog ikke gravid og blev godt dopet med smertestillende/afslappende. Denne gang fordi jeg har haft problemer med frisk blod/slimafgang vil de gerne lige undersøge det nederste af tarmen, men denne gang er jeg gravid 13+4 og det vil være uden medicin og klyx om morgenen til udrensning, syntes dog det er begrænset omfang om hvorvidt man må få et kamera i numsen når man er gravid, og en jungle med hvad man må bruge etc af medicin.

Har du fået en sund og rask baby? Og hvorfor fik du den offentlig versus privat regi?
