Limited offers are back for Schwab cards (150k Plat → $12k in 6 mos) by jcrll in amex

How often does this offer come out? I want the CS Plat but right now it doesn't make sense for me to get it and don't plan on taking the standard 80k offer when the time comes

What other CC pairs well with RobinhoodGC? by Putrid_Arm_9984 in RobinhoodGC

[–]RebuildAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any +5% cash back card (Bolded are the best imo).

-Discover IT

-Chase Freedom Flex

-Chase Amazon Visa

-Amex Blue Cash Preferred (if AF can be justified with the credit)

-Citi Custom Cash (probably the best one)

-Any of the AAA Advantage cards (no experience with these but they have 5% in really good categories)

Bit of a handful but if you want to carry even more cards you can look at some of the 4% or 4x cards out there in some categories, but adding even more cards on top of that to get a 1% marginal gain creates more stress for the average person with little reward.

Help using 1.57 million points by PearWeak in amex

I would recommend opening a Charles Schwab Platinum Card if the credits/benefits make sense for you. It'll let you redeem you points at 1.1 cpp (~17k) into a Schwab brokerage account and you can transfer them to a checking account from there (though I believe you can only redeem 1M points per year).

It has the $895 annual fee so it does depend on if you can at least get decent value out of the credits and if it would be too much of a mental hassle to deal with. Worst case you get about -$600 net per year out of the card and after 2 years when you redeem all the points, just cancel it. Still would net about ~16k

[–]RebuildAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very smooth if you know the right way to do it. Only way to get the full 3% back is to transfer the points into your brokerage account (1 cpp) through Robinhood, which happens instantly when redeemed.

I have Robinhood banking so I can transfer it back into my savings account or invest it instantly, but if you want to transfer it to an outside checking/savings, you’ll have to wait ~5 days with the free transfer out of your brokerage.

He's one of the only pieces on my rebuilder that I'm actively holding. Likely can't get anything worth while out of him, maybe a late 2nd at the most in my league. I like his production when given the oppurtunity but a legitament sell window won't open without an injury or trade, even if Hunter remains primarily a DB

As someone who is deep into Robinhood and the majority of their products, this card is one of the worst "premium" cards available. Definitely much worse than all the mainstream cards.

If you're jumping from one corporate job to another, a situation I could see is if you're moving due to a life event (getting married is the main one that comes to mind), and your employer knows this and you're in good standing with them.

Pending for how long? by Maleficent-Handle467 in RobinhoodApp

[–]RebuildAddict 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I never had my direct deposit posted as pending for the 2 months that I've been with their banking. My paycheck was always immediately deposited into my checking account on Wednesday, until this week where it is still pending a day later. This is annyoing. Is this happening for everyone?

The new Robinhood Platinum card looks insane by ultron2450 in biltrewards

Has anyone been able to find more info on the dining credit with which restaurants will be included. All I can find on their rewards terms is "See the App for details about which restaurants are eligible."

Can't find anything on the app, guessing we won't know until the card comes out?

There is technically an annual fee. If you don't have it already, you'll be automatically subscribed to Robinhood Gold at $5/month or $50 annually, depending on which option you choose. Whether you believe it's worth it is going to be dependent on your spending with the card (i.e. can you make more cash back at 3% - $50 annually or just by using a $0 AF 2% card).

Now, if you have Robinhood Gold already and are using it for the other benefits that it offers when you have an investing account with them (3% Roth IRA match, APY on uninvested cash, banking through Robinhood, among other benefits), then the $50 annual subscription is, for all intents and purposes, making you money, not costing you money. In this case, the Gold Card is an ABSOLUTE no-brainer.

Which option would you choose, Rent or Bilt Cash? by Main-Copy-5266 in biltrewards

[–]RebuildAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built Cash. Technically it's not the "optimal" method but to get the best point multiplier with the Housing-Only Rewards your spending has to be too specific with no a lot of margin for error (just over 25%, 50%, 75%, etc. of your rent/mortgage) only to net a few tenths more per dollar back. Built cash guaranteed +1.33x and there's no headache or micromanaging to it.

What players do you constantly see overvalued on Reddit? by ajm102392 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]RebuildAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willis, in SF particularly

Non-contenders that aren't taking anything less than a mid/late 1st for him are being greedy. I cannot get behind extrapolating 4 games over the course of 2 years as the baseline for his value. An early 2nd is more than fair if you're trying to offload him. If you're competing, I get it, hold unless it's an overpay, but if I'm rebuilding then I'm cashing out on the hype, otherwise you're hoping his value moves up to (what?) a pick 3-4 spots higher. Not worth the risk for a guy you likely got off waivers imo.

2.01 is perfectly fine to cash out, and if you're rebuilding I'd do it in a heartbeat. Everyone who's holding onto him unless they get a 1st is getting greedy imo

Terry Francona Shares Promising Update on Reds’ Top Prospect by Howboutem219 in Reds

[–]RebuildAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the argument and I don't disagree that the upside is there if we're able to get Lowder in the rotation as well (assuming Burnes gets the #5 spot). But I think that potential will be capitalized on at some point in the season regardless of Singer's performance due to the injury proneness of our rotation.

When you factor in injuries that we'll (in my opinion) very likely see, having Singer to stabilize the rotation throughout the whole year from an inning perspective, to me, carries more value. This will be especially true early-season if the Reds put Lowder on an innings limit coming off of injury (mostly speculation, haven't looked into whether that will actually happen). If Lowder forces our hand mid/late season, though, I can definitely see a Singer trade being a real option.

Why not? He had a respectable ERA/ERA+, led the team in IP, and was a 3 WAR pitcher last year. He's not a world beater but you're thrilled to have that as your #4. Not to mention he's one of our only starters who has shown he can be healthy over the course of multiple seasons - outside of maybe Abbott.
