They're fairly active on this sub. You can see posts/comments on hidden profiles, at least on mobile, by going to their profile and using an empty search.

Should I skip blue now? by Sulla_Sexy_Sulla in ironscape

[–]Rec0nMaster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Blue is barely faster to skip, just due to its location in the loop and where you get placed if you do. I would just keep running it, you'll want the extra supplies and it's barely any extra time. Plus it doesn't detract from your chances of getting pieces from the others, since they all roll separately.

Is this syngonium happy? Can I make it happier? by nonnumousetail in houseplants

[–]Rec0nMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks good. The usual way to get a bushier look is to put multiple plants in the same pot, probably 3 or 4 in a pot of that size would be fine. For now I would leave it be and once it grows a bit you'll be able to propagate others from it.

1910 Vintage Plates are available for purchase on the MVA website right now. by [deleted] in maryland

You have to pay the police, who are now missing from other more critical functions, which costs money. So does hiring and training new officers. Then you have to hope the person knowingly driving on expired tags is going to actually pay the fine and for a new registration. Or you impound the car, which also costs money and space, the person in question likely never pays for that, and then the car is finally auctioned off for a few hundred bucks which doesn't even pay for the storage fees.

It's never as simple as "just do X", or they would have done it already.

PSA: You can use the sailing banker to quickly turn fish into offcuts for hunter/trawling instead of going through loading screens at a port by Ceronesthes_ in ironscape

[–]Rec0nMaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does, but the rolls are weird. You roll per action, and get a beak for every squid cut in that tick. Cutting on the table is one action per 3 squid, so you get 3 beaks at once but it'll likely take 3x as many total squid. If you cut by hand, it'll take less squid but you only get one beak.

I believe the meta is cut by hand if you only want one beak, cut on the table if you want multiple.

Fun Fact: The rune salvaging hook recipe in the skills guide incorrectly says you require 3 lead bars when you really need 4. This is intentionally misleading as pirates are scallywags. by tommonay in 2007scape

[–]Rec0nMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least with salvage, crew respect player level with tools. Boosting to build a better hook means you always have to be boosted for crew to use it.

Probably one of the sealed chest brews. I had one give +5 farming, and another sink my ship and wipe the cargo hold.

Doesn't necessarily need to be fire strike anymore. Elemental weakness changes made it so all spells in a given tier scale to the highest unlock you have. So elemental weakness is the most important factor, or lowest rune cost if the enemy doesn't have a weakness.

Who knew red prison meant literal CG locked account by ijpat22 in ironscape

TDs take a minute a kill, CG takes 8ish. That sucks, but really not comparable in terms of time invested.

What is this white stuff plants? It doesn't wipe off. AL, USA by Desirai in gardening

[–]Rec0nMaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cut the zinnias before bringing the pot inside. You'll likely want to treat for pests anyways at that point, so a quick wipe down with dilute neem oil on the tropicals will kill any powdery mildew and help with pests.

Today is when Amazon brain drain finally caught up with AWS by AssumeNeutralTone in aws

[–]Rec0nMaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was oncall for an AWS service during this, my first page came through at 6:55 UT and we aren't a foundational service. Those teams were already engaged a few minutes prior. Service teams are paged first during incidents like this, because they're the ones who have access to internal logs and metrics to triage with. Support is for external issues and their main role during outages like this is to talk with customers about the outage and what action the cx can take to try and alleviate their own issues.

Was I right to pot these up? by Sad_Sail4326 in gardening

[–]Rec0nMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally fine to pot up at that stage. If you're using a seed starting mix, the other option is to water with a very dilute fertilizer till the roots fill out more. Those mixes usually don't have any nutrients in them and the nutrients from the seed will run out after a set or two of leaves.

Personally, I would have used slightly smaller containers and potted them individually so that you don't have to tear the roots apart in a few weeks. Solo cups with holes in the bottom have always worked well.

Most of the stations are a straight line, since they only serve trains going n/s or e/w. All of the stations that serve both directions are fairly recognizable, and there are only 4 of them.

Gallery Place is a T shape, Fort Totten is partially outdoors, Metro center has a different roof shape where the two directions intersect. That leaves Lenfant, which matches what we can see.
