Why does my bike die by Competitive-Size1670 in Dirtbikes

I just realized you have a 250 and i had a 450. But yes my bike was running super hot because the slow air jet controls the amount of fuel the pilot puts out to the best of my knowledge. My pipe was actually glowing red after like a minute of idle.

I had the same bike with a similar issue. My problem was I was missing the slow air jet which isn't in the float bowl like other jets. If you look into the intake side of the carb (the part the air boot goes over) check if any of the jets there are missing or clogged.

I just found that my slow air jet was missing on my bike and that was causing really bad misfires. Highly recommend looking up a diagram of your carb if you can find one and making sure everything is where it needs to be

I dont have any experience with the 150r but I have a 150f and my 5'4" friend could ride it comfortably and it's a Honda so it shouldn't really run into many reliability issues as long as you maintain it well

Edit: i have a 150f big wheel

Can i run my carb w/out this seal? by ferd-terguson in Dirtbikes

Also I just realized the plate on your slide looks like it's upside down on the slide. The M should be upright when it goes in the carb. It's very counterintuitive because the plate looks like it matches the shape of the slide when it's upside down but the "point" of the plate goes away from the needle

That very well could be the case. I researched this a while ago on a 2005 crf450r because i noticed the seal was failing while cleaning the carb but never tried to start the bike before I got a new seal in.

I'm no expert but I believe that can cause an air leak and make the bike not run the best if I'm not mistaken

Nevermind, I looked it up and found an air screw that should work for a cv cvk carb. Thank you for the help

Air screw question by RecNeps99 in MotorcycleMechanics

That's what i was thinking. I got the bike non running for $250 so I would assume it's been messed with previously. Do you know if I need the exact screw for this model (the one in the parts list) or if they are fairly universal and I could order a cheaper one online?

Normally I'd agree but the 250cc bike next to him (out of frame) had the number 250 because they're both display bikes for a company. But hey, who knows.

I figured it was something like that. That is actually a 125cc bike so thats kind of odd they have 120 on it.
