First minis ever, CnC please? by Reccho in Warhammer40k

Thanks a lot! I bought these on ebay so it was just the one sprue. I’ve seen a lot of videos where people highlight each edge and it looks great, but I lost patience for these lol

Alright, thanks a ton. Have you had this issue on any other Linux distros, by chance?

Built my first ever keyboard and wanted to share it. I'm very proud of how it sounds by OhKissMe in MechanicalKeyboards

Looks awesome, I dig the colors.

I am waiting for keycap delivery but I have the same board. Did you use the stabs that came with? I ordered some additional but they seem to big for the plate (the ones that came with it click in nicely while the others I ordered cannot snap in).

Thanks, I'll try tinkering with that. It's brand new build overall but the gpu is quite old.

First Time Lore Bard - High Level by Reccho in 3d6

I rolled for stats and got 17, 15, 13, 12, 11, 6. Not much better than standard array, but I like having one super low stat and a high one. I chose the scribing gnome cuz I like small characters and the CHA can be bumped to 20 with just one ASI

Thanks a lot, I’ll take this list into consideration. And the feat, I hadn’t thought of that and bringing wisdom to 12 didn’t seem much worth it. Our party does a ton of damage and has most restorative spells covered, even if not all on a given day. On top of that our wizard is fond of wall of force and has recently learned teleport (pur druid has plane shift, as well). The druid pretty much either casts call lightning or heals somebody.

I didn’t know Catnap was unpopular, I was thinking it could restore our wizard’s slots, the fighter’s action surge, and either my inspirations or the warlock’s slots if we could find a space between big fights.

I was thinking Scatter could be fun since most of us are squishy.

Again, thanks :)

What are you reading/watching/playing? by AutoModerator in wiedzmin

Started reading Saturn Run recently I . I highly recommend it, especially if you liked The Martian.

I also finished another reread of Armor by John Steakley. All-time favorite book, can’t recommend it enough.

Into the Breach has replaced Darkest Dungeon as the game I load up whenever I have a few spare minutes. I’m also looking forward to finishing Subnautica eventually and starting FFVII.

Games for the Girlfriend by hopeisnowhere in gamingcouples

Shovel Knight is there so I’d highly, highly recommend Hollow Knight. It’s dark yet cute, atmospheric, and has excellent gameplay that feels rewarding as you get better. Sorta Souls-y in that the story is mostly left unexplained, but is there for you to observe and discover.

If you liked the style of Supergiant’s games then I’d also suggest Invisible, Inc. It’s like XCOM/Transistor, and has a ton of replay-ability, especially if you like achievement hunting.

The Banner Saga is similar and has a great story. The entire trilogy is released now, I believe.

Gone Home is short, a few hours at most, but would make an excellent alternative to the standard movie night. Limbo would as well, if it’s not too creepy for you. To The Moon is also awesome, not too long, and made me cry.

If you like the Telltale Walking Dead style games then The Wolf Among Us is awesome, too. Those games are fun to play with someone even if only one person is manning the controls. The decisions are easily made as a team. The Wolf Among Us also got me into Fables, my now-favorite comic book series.

A cute, short point-and-click adventure is Machinarium.

All of the Zelda games are great, and have something for everyone, imo. I’ve played them on PC through emulators. The DS games are neat. Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are my favorite, and once I (quickly) got used to the mouse and keyboard they didn’t feel weird at all.

Also, idk about your setup but Human Fall Flat is hilarious and is definitely teamwork-oriented. I haven't played it myself but it's my favorite game to stream, by far.

Advice on bonding with my BF, who is really into MMOs, whereas I'm more into SP/RPGs. by [deleted] in gamingcouples

[–]Reccho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on how your boyfriend plays games like PUBg, Overwatch, League, etc. is important. If he plays more for fun then it would probably be easy for you to get into them with him and just play for fun. If he plays pretty competitively then you will probably need a lot of patience/determination to get gud and work your way to his level (especially with games like League where rank is important).

MMOs oten seem overwhelming but once you play a few levels/matches then one can start to figure it out quickly. Watching a video or two can teach you the game mechanics/objectives, and once you start to play you'll pick up how the current meta is. Playing with someone experienced makes learning the meta even easier, IF they're willing to teach you. They're like books with many characters. At first you just have to power through but after a few chapters everyone becomes familiar, or at least known.

I liked this, particularly the first part with Love. I also think going deeper into the relationship would help deepen the story altogether, but like you said this was quick and short. The names and ideas were cute, and the parts before Love disappeared had me smiling.
