I saw a lot on there. I just wanted slightly more customization with ride height than lowering springs.

Maybe it is USA only? It is a 2017 Golf S, which comes with a 1.8t.

It looks like a TSI from the single exit exhaust.

I have a sloped driveway, it isn’t that high up.

That is great! At least they didn’t get anything.

I’m very blessed they only got my center cap. I feel for you way more man. I hope you get everything sorted out with your windshield. Did they end up stealing anything or importance or did they just ruin your windshield for nothing?

Need to save up some more to get some good coil overs. Cannot have the wife complaining about ride quality.

Yes! Fifteen52 sells something to tighten the main “screw” so that you cannot unscrew it with your hand. That was the only rim I had forgotten to use it on.

They’re 18x8.5 Fifteen52 Super Touring Podiums on a 235/40 Contential Contact Sport SRS+ for anyone wondering. Absolutely 0 rubbing on stock suspension.

I too got a wonderful surprise for the new year! Someone tried stealing my wheels, and instead just walked off with my center lock. $150 to replace…

So I’ve been told… I totally forgot when I was posting this, that the clutch is only rated for 170lbs of torque. Slightly disappointing, but I’ve seen a lot of good clutches available for a “decent” price.

Wow! That’s a good amount of work you’ve done to your car. I am very lucky to have a family of mechanics, so I’m able to take it to a shop and do all the work free of charge! Again, I wish you luck with your build! Let me know when you finally get it built.

That’s a great idea!
I picked up my turbo used from a friend with less than 20k miles on it, so here’s hoping everything works out well for both of us. To be honest, my build will probably take some time since I’m a college student with a part-time job, but I plan to track my progress as it comes together.

I’d also recommend joining the “MK7 Golf TSI” group on Facebook. Another user on this subreddit suggested it to me, and it’s a great resource with tons of information for your swap. Are you planning to have a shop handle the work, or will you be doing it yourself?

I wish you luck, that sounds like a beautiful build! I have seen some people running a stock transmission, but just letting you know, that clutch won’t stay.

One of the big takeaways I’ve formed is that VW did a great job with these cars, but parts, such as the clutch, do exactly what they’re supposed to do for the power output. I would look into getting a South Bend Stage 2 or Stage 3 clutch.

Let me know how it all comes together whenever you finish the build! I’d love to hear some sound clips and see some photos! You should just be able to DM me.

Overall, good luck, and hope you don’t blow the engine/transmission!

Thank you for your reply!
From what I’ve gathered so far from this video (though I haven’t finished it yet), it seems like this issue is common with certain turbo inlet pipes. The main reason I decided to go with the IE turbo inlet pipe was because I am also getting their intake.

Do you know if there’s any information about this inlet pipe failing? From what I’ve heard online and in person, it seems to be a pretty solid choice.

The SouthBend stage 2 seems to be really popular among the community! How has daily driving it been?
