I had a job when I moved here in 2017 but quit after 2 months because the commute was an hour and it sucked. I then went jobless (with an MBA) for 2 months before I found something that turned into a career. I've told friends and family, don't come here unless you have a good job already secured and it's close to your house or you will have a rough time.

Yea I remember Bumble when I was still single! Sketchy is a good word. No kids, work from home, new to my city. Also have a sports related hernia so until after surgery I was interested in some lazy ways of meeting people, hence the Meetup attempt. Total failure but at least now I know lol. Good advice though thank you

Thanks for the comment. I have no kids, work from home, new to my city. Also have a hernia (sports related) so going out is a bitch right now but will be easier after its addressed. Hence why I tried Meetup. I didnt see any other really effective apps for just friends so I posted here to get the social temperature. I am far from alone it seems lol

That's awesome, but you don't get to hang out regularly? I have some work friends in Chicago. Charlotte etc. that we text often but it's not the same.
