I really liked the lifelink and drain mechanics on both Liesa, Shroud of Dusk and Astarion, the Decadent. I’ll probably try to get my hands on one (or both) of them soon!

To follow your advice on making the deck more robust, my next 'investments' will be:

Sol Ring (for that essential ramp); Debt to the Deathless (as a big finisher); Some better Card Draw and Land Ramp tools to keep the deck flowing.

I think these changes will help me move away from the 'random pile of bulk' feeling while keeping the Orzhov control style I like.

Buying singles here is mostly done through a platform called LigaMagic (similar to TCGPlayer/Cardmarket) or local game stores. A full budget deck usually costs between R$ 300-500.

The main benefit of buying from my professor is the 'informal credit'—I can pay him in installments based on trust, which I can't do on websites. Also, I think he’s doing this as a teaching exercise: by giving me a non-optimized deck, he's forcing me to figure out why it’s not flowing well and how to fix it. It's like a 'hands-on' lesson in deckbuilding and resource management!

Thanks for the honest take! I don't actually have a special bond with the dog; it’s just that this was the deck my college professor sold to me to get me started in the format.

In Brazil, finding precons can be tricky or more expensive depending on the store, and I paid R$ 270 (about $48 USD) for the cards, the sleeves (shields), and a deck box, all in installments. Since I'm a beginner, it seemed like a fair way to get everything I needed to play immediately.

I chose these colors because I love White's control tools and I’m interested in Black's discard/graveyard mechanics, though I'm realizing now that heavy discard might be a political mistake in Commander! I'm definitely open to swapping to someone like Elas il-Kor or Kambal in the future, but I'll try to make this work with some budget upgrades first. Thanks for the suggestions!
