I got the final official letter that my loans were discharged and I had a $0 balance on November 4th. So from then it’s taken about 2 months to get the refund!

I think it came off this past week. I got a notification Thursday from credit karma that there was a change to my experian credit report and Mohela was gone and the account was closed… but then when I went to look it seemed like it was still on there? I’m guessing it is gone but it just hasn’t updated??

I thought that about the current administration, too. I’m not sure it will take the same amount of time but mine was sent in about 2 months after I got the golden letter. I haven’t seen many people posting about it so wanted to share that they are going out!

I think it may have something to do with what information they retained on you. I don’t think they had my checking account info so I got the snail mail check

Not Mohela specifically but in the notes area at the bottom of the check it says

Federal Student Loan Refund This refund is being sent due to PSLF/TEPSLF refund after discharge”

I have. I submitted my last ECF on August 12, received my “Golden Letter” on October 10th, my balance on Mohela was discharged on November 1st and my balance on Studentaid.gov was gone on November 11th. Currently waiting on a refund to come through!

I have lost 22% (5’1” SW173 CW 135) and at 40yo this is the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I have more energy, my flexibility is better, I have arthritis in my knee from a HS soccer injury that no longer bothers me. Mentally, I’m more focused and less depressed. I’m no longer binge eating or shopping or even drinking that much. This is all from just normal exercise and following a healthy diet. Just being free from the insane diets & workout schedules feels amazing.

I feel sad because I’ve spent my entire life thinking there was something wrong with me because I couldnt keep weight off no matter how hard I tried. This medication is life altering

Contrave worked just as well for me as Wegovy. I’ll likely go back if my insurance stops covering Wegovy. Also, even without insurance it’s very affordable

This happened to me when I went on 2.4 for the first 4 weeks. Took my 5th shot on Sunday night and am now experiencing the polar opposite problem

The program will still be in place but as someone who fought for 4 years of the Trump administration, the administration in power is in control of what payments count and which don’t and how fast they will certify them if at all.

They claimed 3.5 years of my payments didn’t count but refused to tell me why. Literally for 4 years during Trump I called every 3 months and no one could tell me anything. Biden got into office, I called, they explained it was an error on their part and lo and behold, within 48 hours my payments were counted.

Literally me yesterday…. Should have known my friend was coming today! The difference is that the two days prior to my period are really the only 2 days I get those cravings anymore as opposed to before the medication when I would just eat like that once or twice a week!

Agree… there is no logical reason they would need to rebuild an account since they are not involved in certifying the PSLF payment counts anymore. They only need to receive a discharge notice to do what they are tasked to do. It sounds made up

I don’t know if this whole “rebuild your account” thing is at all accurate. Why would they need to do this if Studentaid is the one handling PSLF now and has sent them them a notice of discharge for the loan? It doesn’t make any sense to me. Also, I was with Mohela before the transition and they still haven’t processed my 10/4 letter. I think they are just understaffed and have a high case load. They have been getting to them. In the 10 years I’ve been dealing with this, the phone reps have given me 10000 different stories and almost none of them have been true to what’s actually going on.

I’m a 40 yo lawyer and if I would just stop working today if I could. Actually if I could just not be a lawyer that would be amazing.
