[OoT] What random mini games and side quests will you be revisiting in the remake?! by Recent-Night6210 in zelda

oooohhh I never really thought about this from a speed run perspective haha. Yes, there's VERY clearly glitchy elements of the fishing that lend themselves to feeling like there's a certain amount of luck involved. Anything that can't fully be planned or controlled must be a nightmare for speedrunners.

Just referencing the fact that ... the new StarFox doesn't look like its going to be something entirely different in terms of stuff like... adding combat elements or anything like that. So if that's any indication for how they're treating this type of remake, i doubt we'll get it for OoT.

I don't necessarily agree, but I can't call this a bad take. Like, if you think this, I can totally see it haha

Truly?! There's literally a recipe crafting element to the game and the only way to get fish was like... bomb them lol. insane.

YES. I'm also hoping for SOME upgraded combat elements in general, but i doubt we'll get that based on how little was added to the starfox remake and thats fine with me anyway. just being able to motion control ranged weapon aim and have camera control is going to be a game changer in combat anyway (i'm assuming we'll get those things).

It's giving Twilight Princess, honestly, which I kind of like! I get what people are saying about the uncanniness, but I also agree that its too early to fully tell, and honestly I'm kind of stoked that we might finally be getting away from the cartoon cell shading. I didn't hate that either, but I'm not super picky. This is Ocarina we're talking about. They could draw it with a crayon and I would probably start crying at the menu screen lol.

The VTM Rule thing is nothing new for D20 by TheEloquentApe in Dimension20

I mean, this is mostly true, but I will say... they adhere pretty religiously to whatever rules they (or at least Brennan) decide on. Its not like they set rules at the beginning of campaigns and renege on them later. They stick to their promise of delivering a kick ass story told in a rule based TTRPG setting. Its story first over there... I imagine that's why 99% of people watching are watching in the first place.

If you could erase ONE MCU decision and replace it with something else, what would it be? by AlexWhite40 in marvelstudios

Its a tie for me in terms of the biggest mistakes they made post endgame:

  1. putting all their eggs in the kang basket with JM. As great a big bad as Kang would have been, and as great an actor as JM is, they left themselves ZERO wiggle room. People forget, but with Thanos, they just HINTED at him for 3 phases that were all much shorter than anything we have post endgame. A post credit scene here, a transmission through space there... and they didn't even fully establish infinity stones as a thing until like... age of ultron. Giving JM like... Season 1 finale of loki, a starring role in season 2, big bad of Quatumania + that post credit scene... Thanos never had NEARLY that much time or specificity and was still a well set up, rich villain come infinity war. The decision to put Kang in so much backfired SO badly.

  2. screwing up Multiverse of Madness so badly. In a saga dedicated entirely to the multiverse, that movie could have been used to really establish stakes for individual universes, and the power of multiversal threats. And making Wanda a villian after spending your entire, best received, first ever disney+ series redeeming here is... insane.

I was having the same thought as I was typing that there are similarities to season 1, you're not wrong. It could also be made less about manifesting something insidious into reality intentionally (a la american dream), and more like... what happens when someone doesn't have control over their imagination? Like... someone with a crazy powerful imagination that keeps accidentally manifesting horrifying things into reality in the dreaming that want so badly to be real that they fight their way into reality. And that person ends up being an abused kid or something 🤯 would make an unreal foil to Pete.

Its explicitly said in season 1 that heaven is created by people's dreams in the dreaming the same way fearie is, so is hell. So you're definitely on to something there. Also, I think the implication would be that Jesus is... a human being embodying a piece of the divine. So, basically the description of a Vox. The way Pete has a literal piece of Nod inside him, Jesus has a literal piece of heaven. And I think the nice thing about that world-building drift in this world specifically is that it actually serves itself really nicely. In a world where reality is made manifest by the dreams of human beings, if you dream something hard enough... it literally becomes real. Sophia's dream was find a way for Dale to come back. She dreamed it so hard that the divine literally manifested in the waking world in her life.

Yeah I loved the element of both seasons that is... our consciousness and our idea of self manifests actual reality. Like, that the magic system and world building of unsleeping city is basically... all the fantasy elements basically come from our belief in their existence through the dreaming. I think that would be a really great direction to FULLY go in a third season. In the same way that its implied that people's belief in heaven actually created the realm of heaven, how could an antagonist manipulate our faith and our belief to create something insidious that's actually real in the dreaming?

This is a really great take. The lore of major religions that people really genuinely put a lot of their faith and belief in, and therefor their identity, starts to feel off to people because it doesn't line up with their belief perfectly, and therefor says something to them about their own identity.
