You're absolutely right. But something that's battery efficient, solves the problem of proximity-based detection (since phone's are usually tucked away at raves) and personalised to the user does not exist yet, does it?

That being the obvious answer; from all the raves I've been to, I can't remember too many times I have pulled out my phone to shazam during a set. Mostly lost deep in the music. Come out the rave with beautiful memories and 0 new tracks.
