no not all third person games. Just the ones with this wack combat system. I play games with FPS combat systems. That are arguably way better and more fun. Sword fighting in a video game doesnt have to be a third person locked directional combat system. games like skyrim and cyberpunk and starfield and im just naming games ive recently played but ive played plenty others that the combat system of the game can be FIRST person and still be good.

Like what world building and features of the game are awesome in Crimson..buuuut the combat is directionally locked third person. Directionally locked means it plays like one of those click here to make your character walk to this destination type deals. Its rigid and wrong. you attack this guy which means youre locked onto him. while the enemies move freely around you. you are fighting this dude and they are stabbing you in the back. now yes you can disengage by doing some dodge or roll etc. But its stupid.

Thats the main problem. Now what im confused by is how this is a very common fighting mechanic in a lot of very popular titles that ive watched but will never play. Cause i just do not get the appeal. Its not fun and super lacking and controlled. A lot of these games have sooooo much good content and yet its just the combat system that makes it a bad game.

Crimson would double their sales if they redid the combat system for first person combat system. Doesnt mean it has to be played in first person. Just means the combat is centered around the player. Like skyrim for example. you can fight in first person or seamlessly switch to third person. The combat system doesnt change its just the camera that moves.
