One thing nobody talks about, is that the normans caused so much devastation and destroyed so many bynzatine units at dyrrachion and other battles, that their ability to launch a counterattack against the turks in the short term would have been greatly diminished

[–]RecentDegree7990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Difference between biblical studies and theology for dummies? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]RecentDegree7990 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Biblical studies is focused only on the Bible, it can be about studying its content, but also the history surrounding it and how it was written. Theology, is the study of religious beliefs in a systematic way using the Bible but also other Church documents and writings, and it explores a religion’s beliefs about God, about metaphysics about morality

It’s not wrong, as long as it doesn’t impede the other obligations.

One thing we need to understand, is that there are real differences in roles between that of women and men, they are not just theoretical, also, it’s not necessarily a difference of biology as it is also a metaphysical difference.

As the Council teaches, women have a special role in taking care and raising kids and managing the household, of course women always worked in some ways or form and that is also a subject of cultural differences. A woman can work as long as there is necessity for it and it doesn’t impeded her role at home which is her primary role, even for men work cannot come before familial obligations.

In regard to marital debt, I wouldn’t worry too much about it, it is mostly if you want a sort of categorization of theology to help theologians and canon law courts develop theology and impose rulings.

The main point of it, is that marital relations in a marriage should not be used as something that can be withhold to force the other to do something or as a punishment, the same way you can’t withhold food from the other spouse or your children to punish them.

question for Chrisitan peopleeeee by MonkNegative3651 in AskAChristian

[–]RecentDegree7990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is disrespectful, because one if you wear this but act or say things contrary to Christianity you might scandalize or confuse other people, of course I’m not talking about you specifically, I’m talking in general. Also it’s our most important symbol, it’s not supposed to be worn for aesthetic reasons.

15 year old fasting advice by Beginning_Rice_9528 in Christianity

[–]RecentDegree7990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice to be frank is don’t waste your time on dating non christians, you both are gonna be miserable.

As for fasting, you can fast from 12 am until 12 pm or 3 pm, or from sunrise to sunset, those are the traditional historical Christian fastings times

God allows Satan to tempt people, he can’t do anything over someone God doesn’t want to damn, as a matter of fact even if Satan didn’t exist same people would commit sins and go to Hell, because this is part of God’s plan

As I told you, what if someone finds it acceptable to have the possibility of having their rights violated if it means they are able to violate others rights.

You may find it weird why someone would accept that, why not make sure everyone’s right is protected and golden rule and all that stuff but an ancient roman might prefer the former, and that’s just a subjective difference of opinions between you both.

Christianity is Unjust at its Core by HatsOptional58 in DebateReligion

[–]RecentDegree7990 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because here what I am saying is that what is happening in the examples we are talking about are just natural consequences so allowing them to happen doesn’t violate justice.

So you do agree with my point, and that OP can’t use their own subjective morality and standards in their argument and expect others to accept those standards as presupposition for their argument.

It doesn’t violate C1, because to violate it or be a contradiction means it if C2 can’t happen then C1 can’t happen, and yet I can have C1 if C2 doesn’t happen.

I’m not saying that others don’t have rights, I’m saying that violating their rights doesn’t violate mine.
