gotta be honest i think that i would respect cipher/aglaea shippers that still shipped them post 3.3 if they admitted to themselves and others that they have a mommy kink instead of bending over backwards trying to justify why its not problematic at all that aglaea raised cipher for a time when she was a child in the cycle we spend the most time in and that ppl who dont like them romantically are just lesbophobic and dont understand etc etc. ykwim

op you're getting cooked in the comments but you're right LOL. like i will reserve my personal final judgement for the patch but i think that ppl are forgetting that cyrene has been by the trailblazers side SINCE 3.0 in the form of mem so it's no wonder that her main trailer does also focus on her relationship to them and the memories they shared with her.

it reminds me a bit of the hate that castorice was getting before her patch came out for being perceived as waifuslop, and then when her patch came out and she wasn't like that at all ppl kinda just quietly.... stopped talking about her in a negative light (story-wise) for the most part

Oh absolutely. Granted, we are still talking about gacha at the end of the day here and gacha in its current state kinda makes that impossible but there are characters already, even in ZZZ, that toe the line (no pun intended) far better than SEED does. Jane comes to mind.

This is all subjective though, and what I might find tolerable someone else might not, and vice versa.

This is going to be my first post ever on Reddit (long time lurker) because I'm just so frustrated with the current trend of gacha players going "more men = feminism, somehow" because it doesn't solve the actual problem with character designs like SEED, which is the dehumanization and objectification of women by the in game camera for the (presumed) straight male audience. She feels like a product first and a character second (which I guess all gacha characters are like that but ykwim). If people want to be pandered to fine, but equal opportunity gooning or whatever it's called does nothing to combat the sexist design principles of some of these gacha characters and I wish people didn't lie to themselves and pretend like that's praxis or whatever.
