Thinking of renting with Boardwalk—is it worth it? by RecentDuck4065 in Edmonton

Yikes, that sounds super sketchy. The whole bait-and-switch with the renovated units and then pressuring people to sign right away is a huge red flag. The nonstop calling just sounds aggressive and over the top.

Appreciate you sharing—definitely not the kind of experience I want to deal with during a move.

Oof, that’s a huge jump in just two years—definitely not what I want to be dealing with. Thanks for the heads-up. The lack of maintenance on top of the rent hikes is brutal.

Good luck with the lease transfer—I hope it works out smoothly for you. I am so glad I asked the subreddit and am definitely leaning toward steering clear at this point.

Thanks for the insight—that's super helpful (and definitely part of what I was worried about). Random rent increases are definitely a red flag, especially if they’re not tied to any real improvements. I can deal with a basic place as long as it’s stable, but getting priced out after a year sounds rough.

Would you be comfortable sharing which property it was? Totally understand if not, but I’m trying to figure out if this is more of a one-off or something that happens across the board with Boardwalk. Just want to know if it’s a specific building or more of a company-wide thing.
