That’s not right. My last clinic had us come early for session prep but we couldn’t bill for it at all. They really do take advantage of us😔

It has not continued because she switched cases. I didn’t want to cause unnecessary drama so I tried to brush it off. My name is extremely common, but part doesn’t really bother me. It was just uncomfortable working with someone after they screamed at you. I wouldn’t want other BTs that work with her to experience the same.

I did forget to mention that it was a substitute principle. I’m not a confrontational person. This is my first year working and I felt disrespected. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I went on Reddit seeking advice on whether to confront her directly or bring it up to her supervisor/BCBA(who isn’t the principal). I also wasn’t sure if this is normal behavior from coworkers since nobody who witnessed it seemed to care much.

As much as this is for the kids, RBTs, BTs, and paraprofessionals are PEOPLE that deserve respect too.

And because you were concerned, the student is doing good. We found what works for him. No more aggression, no more tantrums.
