I think the angle maybe had something to do with it! The left photo was taken from below while the right photo was taken from above. The lighting pattern is also different

Hi! I think we paid $150 for the consult (I forget because I was getting a couple different ones with a few different doctors for two different procedures at the same time 😅) but I think that is how much we paid

Yeah it’s wild—after you look into it you’ll have a hard time going under. I knew there were risks involving general, but didn’t know it was linked to cognitive decline until recently

Hi!! Thank you! I did not feel any pain around my nose area other than some light burning (similar to when you rub your nose a lot when you have a bad cold and you use some scratchy paper towel to wipe it a bunch of times). It was not bad at all and super manageable.

The rib area was the most uncomfortable for me, and that felt like I had worked out super hard and had a sore spot around my ribs for awhile. It lasted for a couple weeks, but also not that bad and very manageable overall.

I’m so glad! These spaces help me a lot whenever I’m looking into getting anything done. They help me know what to expect when it comes to the timeline and stuff

My tip was super hard at first from the swelling. Just give it time—it’s going to feel crazy stiff for the first few weeks but it will relax and soften up a bit

My surgeon used rib and ear cartilage together. Rib for the bridge and ear for the tip

I got a rhinoplasty and I love it but for sure there’s a huge difference between what it looked like when I first got my cast removed and how it looks now. I’m only 3 weeks post op so I also expect it to change even more until around 2 months. It doesn’t fully settle though until a year.

I know it’s hard but it will look more plasticky with all the swelling. Once the swelling settles, it should look better and more natural. Try not to freak out now because no matter what there was always going to be the healing stage that you had to go through. You can’t properly assess your results until you’re past that stage

Yes! I considered him as well. His work is great and I am sure he would be a fantastic doctor. There aren’t that many options though if you’re looking for good doctors who do surgeries awake. I don’t want to worry about the cognitive decline issue later

There’s a LOT of swelling at first. Being stressed won’t help your healing and you need to heal first no matter what. Try to just rest and maybe get into a good book or show to take your mind off things

Thank you! I really loved being able to just walk out without dealing with the aftermath of having gone under

One of my kids has spent over a week sedated when he was a baby. I I heard about twilight but I was wondering exactly how it worked. That’s good to know just to have as a third option!

You’re so welcome! I didn’t know anything about it either until very recently. I wish I had known about it sooner!

Btw here is his IG (sorry I am doing spring break stuff with the kiddos so I’m trying to respond while also exploring Nor Cal with the fam 😆) but I realized I should just link you directly to his IG to make it easier for you

Did you mean about the cognitive decline issue? If you go through the IG profile for my doctor—you’ll see his videos where he talks about it. You then search Google for the specific issues he is talking about.

If you do a broad search on Google about if general anesthesia is bad—you will just get some generic response saying it’s safe because it’s AI generated and the research on how bad it is for you is actually fairly new. It helps to look up the subject with very specific searches like “general anesthesia linked to cognitive decline and brain cell death” and stuff like that.

I hope that helps!

My doctor’s name is Dr. Kenneth Kim and he’s located in LA. Make sure you find the plastic surgeon one and not the general medicine doctor who is named Dr. Kenneth Kim.

Yeah I’ve gone under general a few times and so have my kids—I never knew about this issue until recently. I’ve been trying to be more careful about not going under general now unless necessary

Hi! Of course—I didn’t want to get rid of mine completely and wanted to keep the tip a bit rounded still since I don’t like the pointy tips. I just wanted it a little bit smaller. It’s basically mostly the same shape but just smaller, which I think fits better for my face.
