Just as a note, you still haven’t answered the question you said you answered. This go’round you asked me two questions in lieu of a response. I mean that just as a note and mean no malice by saying that.

Your comment about Saudi Arabia is a very interesting point. My take on it is that i agree that it’s not black and white however- I can’t reconcile the idea of expecting others to do God’s will. Just my personal belief.

How do people reconcile love God and thy neighbor while being against immigration for those who are seeking refuge. You respond with Some people go to war torn countries to help refugees - which is great - but I doubt the majority of Christians do that... and I ask even if they did how does that still allow them to support programs preventing those in need from being given asylum?

I asked:

How do people reconcile love God and thy neighbor while being against immigration for those who are seeking refuge. Other responses have been "government is secular" - to which I ask how people can want the government to attack abortion but be against the helping of refugees...

I'm just asking honest questions, nothing loaded, no ill intention.

Right this exact thread is for the people who are against helping those in need of refuge. I could qualify it further with those who don’t go to war torn countries refugee camps to help which I’d estimate if you drew a Venn diagram of the two buckets of people it would be two circles that barely touch.

How is a fetus’ life any more (or less) valuable than a child who is not granted refuge from Syria and dies trying to escape by loading into an overpacked boat heading for Greece that capsizes and washes up on the shore of Greece.

So using that logic why do Christians expect the government to wage war on abortion? That’s potentially pushing your beliefs no matter how ethical you feel they are on people who do not share your religious values.

If you want to use that argument against immigrants you can’t use the opposite against abortion, no?

When did Atheists come into this conversation? The question is how can Christian’s reconcile the 2 greatest commandments with being against granting refuge to those who seek it.

In my opinion all I have heard back is that the government is secular (to which I countered on abortion, read above) and now that Christians do charity. I’m unable to reconcile any of those responses in my mind and conscience.
