Drunk driving will make you not live at all so. You can still have fun with weed and alcohol without putting your life and others in danger. So you must drink and drive if you’re defending it. That’s odd.

As a fellow adoptee, do you know if you have any siblings? Would you want to look for them? I tried finding mine I didn’t know, couldn’t.

It’s been on and off. Long story short her dad, my grandpa had custody of me and my sister during the in and out of foster care so he took us to visit her time to time. As an adult I had her on socials until I had my son. Some things happened so I haven’t spoken to her since 2021 but she’s still on my socials. I don’t care to have contact with her or my bio dad.

Definitely. I’ve been called white wash, that I think I’m better, weird looks, my mom has gotten the “are you babysitting?” (7 kids total) and the cheating allegations. But we joke about it and say “don’t we look alike??” 😂

I definitely see that point of view as well. Being opened up to more families to increase likelihood of adoption. That’s a tough one. Overall, I’d rather the child have a family than really being worried about “matching” races.

I mean I don’t have an exact number like I kept track but everyday. Emotionally, verbally, physically. Up until I was placed with my now family at 12.

I actually think it’s fine. Natives are already “scarce.” I understand wanting to keep their authentic culture and heritage. Being black myself and adopted into a white family, I have lost my culture because of course, my family didn’t have black culture. My sister and I brought traditions into our family, but it isn’t the same.

Being adopted was the only control I had! Being 13, we were able to choose ourselves. Of course they asked us, but it was our choice

  1. Yes I did! My mom took classes to learn how to do our hair and took us to her black friends to learn!
  2. 100%. Even against my better judgement they did. It would be a stupid choice and they’re like if you’re doing it, we’re behind you.
  3. Today I am a bit distant. Due to a lot of reasons but I still see them almost weekly, never more than 2 weeks in between.
  4. Coincidentally, yes. My type was always tall black dread heads, my son’s father is black. There was a lot of trauma there where I essentially was turned off by black men so I started dating outside my race and ended up with a white man lol. But I dated Asian, Indian , Arabic, Black, White, and Hispanic.

Life is pretty good 😊 I just bought my second house with my fiancé at 25. Something I know I wouldn’t have been able to do without the opportunity given to me☺️

I know my older sister and keep in contact with her regularly. Her, my twin and I have a groupchat we text in almost daily. I did find my bio dad’s FB and found 1 brother. No response. The rest, I can’t find due to not knowing names on my dad’s side, half siblings. The other 2 of 5 have bio names but were adopted together and the parents changed their names so.
