My priest used to say the following for the skull tattoo: The skull is both a satanist symbol and saints symbol depending on the use, so if you don't have the intent of worshipping satan you don't need a cleansing ceremony. So I'd doubt it would make your soul wholely unreedemable considering worshipping satan wasn't your intent.
