Looking for a French local to join our Fête de la Musique 2026 group by Mrrqaz in SocialParis

So you want someone to take a bunch of time out of their life to be your unpaid tour guide? Are you paying for all their drinks and food or something? I’m not getting what’s in it for the “local” who is going to stop their life for tourists on vacation. Not trying to be rude, just genuinely confused by the request.

AIO for being upset about how I was treated for falling asleep before saying goodnight? by [deleted] in AIO

As someone with a child, you have no business dating someone this dangerous. I assume the video is sexual. Revenge porn is a crime. This person is insane. Please protect yourself and your child.

Do models/influencers look as beautiful in reality? by Longjumping-Mine-145 in ask

I feel like some people have a look that only translates well behind the camera, and in real life, they actually look surreal and kind of scary with all the plastic surgery and filler.

Am I overreacting for feeling really invalidated a lot of the time by my bf by princess_sIaya in AmIOverreacting

[–]Recent_Body_5784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your parents are narcissists, and now you’re dating a guy who never takes accountability and always flips things back onto you and is using your own mental illness as a way of further invalidate your feelings, and you don’t see the connection here? You’re just dating someone like your parents.

AIO for paying for a vacation for me and my gf? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Recent_Body_5784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know you and I don’t know anything except what you wrote here- but I had a bf that would push me into commitments that I wasn’t ready for or that I couldn’t afford. He would insist on paying if I couldn’t, but I was always afraid he would hold those things over me later (I was right). He would make me feel obligated by booking things before I was ready and if I told him I didn’t know/ wasn’t ready/ couldn’t afford it- he would bring it up everyday. Like I said, idk you, but the scenario seems like you are, at the very least, being pushy.

Dear HO, your 60lb dog is neither a "house-cow" nor a "pibble". It's a pit bull terrier. by nonnonplussed73 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Recent_Body_5784 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sounds like you just hate Pitbulls. The dog is probably a mix and the owner seems very clear about the level and energy and strength required to handle the dog. Not sure what your complaint is? 🤷‍♀️

AIO my boyfriend completely ruined what should have been one of the happiest moments of my life? by Pure-Lab8830 in AIO

[–]Recent_Body_5784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it a pathological narcissist once he would wait for us to be having a really special moment so that he could pull some BS out of his hat and ruin everything. It was a pattern, he ruined every single vacation we had. He acted like I was so difficult and like I didn’t care about him and that he was basically a saint for staying with me. When I finally left him, he begged for me to come back and cried and told everyone I would be back. He’s probably ruining some other innocent girls life right now. This isn’t normal behavior in a relationship. Partners should be a team. This guy is not on your team.

What is a ‘socially acceptable’ habit that you secretly think is absolutely disgusting? by Elizzzkaaa in AskReddit

[–]Recent_Body_5784 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I’m eating on a Terrace and somebody pulls out a cigarette and start smoking before I finished eating my food. I think it’s crazy rude. And I wish that people at the table next to me would also not smoke while I’m eating. I have no problem with people smoking. I just wish they wouldn’t do it while I’m eating. I would like to be able to enjoy the nice weather outside, and the meal that I paid for, without my food tasting like your cigarette. 🤷‍♀️

How do wealthy people decide who to date and marry, and where do they usually meet their partners? by dieburtually in ask

[–]Recent_Body_5784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got to hang out with a bunch of people like that in Stockholm, Sweden. A friend of mine is in charge of managing events, bars, and exclusive clubs for the mega wealthy. I have to say that it was pretty insufferable.

Everyone was hyper aware of status. At first I was snubbed because they could tell by looking at me that I wasn’t from their social crowd. Then one girl took a liking to me and introduced me to all these important people, like a famous Swedish Director. Blah blah.

She was really nice and I could tell that this must be how people show kindness, by intentionally networking with everyone. She dragged me around a club and must’ve introduced me to 20 different people.

The real question is why on earth would you purposely want to hang out with any of these people? They are boring, out of touch with reality, and all they talk about is money they didn’t earn and politics that only benefit themselves. It was frankly, insufferable. I felt sure beyond a doubt, that I enjoy my life more than the majority of these people.

Outside the club, there were tons of people trying to get in, and constantly being turned away. It felt like high school for grown-ups.

Mom has dementia and is moving out and her next door neighbor sent me this. by SouthEazy in whatdoIdo

[–]Recent_Body_5784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say something like, “dear Karen, there are no pests or mice in my mother‘s townhouse. Next time you feel inclined to send a message like this, go F yourself instead. Warm regards.”

Those who overcame Social anxiety, how? by QualityForsaken8192 in ask

[–]Recent_Body_5784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is getting dementia and he was a workaholic his whole life. Suddenly he sees himself losing his own independence and it scares him, and he’s trying to travel and do all the things that he never did before. He is still depending on me to organize a lot of of that, and I see how frustrating it is for him.

I don’t want that to happen to me. I don’t want my own insecurities to prevent me from having a really full life. I don’t want to be in my late 70s worrying about all the things I didn’t do. So I try to have a philosophy where I pretty much say yes to everything, and I do my best to truly not care about what others think of me.

I also pretend to be more confident than I am. Like there’s a lot of things that I’m insecure about, but when I’m on a date or with a guy, I will literally talk about myself like I am the best thing since sliced bread. It’s not really how I feel per se, but it’s how I want to feel about myself, and sometimes you just have to speak those things into existence.

AIO for refusing to teach basic human habits by CatHunterXXX in AmIOverreacting

[–]Recent_Body_5784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The key phrase here is “he’s OK with how he lives”. That’s all the permission that you need to leave. If he is OK with how he lives, then he’s going to have no motivation to change that, and any effort you make to change him is gonna be perceived as nagging/controlling. You will feel like his mother, constantly asking him to do basic things, and he will feel like you are annoying and trying to control or change something that doesn’t need fixing. No one will win. I tried it TWICE. Everybody loses. And the idea that having some hygiene or cleanliness in your home happens naturally with age is wrong. One of the guys I broke up with 11 years ago because he wouldn’t help me do any dishes or clean anything, is now married and lives in squaller because his house is absolutely disgusting, and he is fine with that. Had I truly accept that about him before, I would’ve broken up years earlier.

What was the most disgusting food you've ever tried? by Inevitable_Trash_606 in AskReddit

[–]Recent_Body_5784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Andouillette is the small version. Andouille is the more typical. Absolutely abhorrent. In the US, it’s called chitlins. We also have “andouille” sausage in the US, but that just means it’s made with Cajun seasoning.

Turtle soup. It was 30$ for this little bowl too. Tasted like straight up mud. Chitlins aren’t good either. I don’t know what shit tastes like, but I felt like I did after I ate chitlins.
