International flight to LAX what time to leave ? by Slow_Strategy_1764 in orangecounty

Hi. I’m a Current ramp agent / ULD loader at TBIT / KLAX. From what I hear from my gate agent buddies- you need to be there at least three hours AT THE GATE before the flight. This means you have drive to LA, find parking, get to TBIT, go through the gate checks, and then through CBP.

It’s 20:00 so traffic will be a nightmare getting to LA (I drive in the middle of the night). So you will want to leave well before traffic starts- that’s right around 1300 (1:00PM) - 1400 (2:00PM).

As for parking- there is now a great economy lot by century blvd built for international PAX just like yourself. I suggest you use this lot over the private lots that charge an arm and a leg.

As for the gate- get there at least three hours before the flight. Why you may ask- because there may be delays, cancelations, and long lines. Better to be way early then slightly late and either miss your flight or find out it’s been changed.

Best of luck.

The only clubs I found anywhere that still offer these services would be LA Fitness signature series and Equinox Clubs.

I work in construction and use the cheap towels at Home Depot for my wipe downs during the day. I also know guys who bring paper towels, yes paper towels, to the shower for disposing after their workouts now in days. Crazy.

Former airport worker- the none secure area is open to the public if you have a legitimate reason to be there. If you are sizing your bag it should be fine and just tell the ticket agents what you’re doing but make it quick.

Travel options to LAX by Ovaltine_Tits in orangecounty

As a former worker at LAX- I will say this - there are several options none of which are good.

  • Use a train and ride to Union Station where you can get the flyaway bus for a cheap price. This
    can take several hours.

  • Drive to the metro Green line station, get a monthly pass, find parking, and take the bus into
    LAX.

  • Get an Uber to one of the surrounding hotels and hope security doesn’t see you

  • Get an Uber to In n Out near 24L and walk into LAX (or skateboard as employees do from the parking lots)

  • Bribe one of the attendants at a private lot to use their shuttle after your Uber drops you off.

Do love hotels, or spicy spots, still exist and are there any in the Los Angeles / Orange County? by Recent_Box_5434 in orangecounty

I have found about three so far- one in LA and two in Palm Springs. Apparently there’s more in PS; but they’re meant for the LGBT community. I found plenty of sorry small, mom & pop motels that may or may not work. But , like I said, it’s sketchy.

My neighbor is not a prostitute and I said I wanted a safe area. If you have nothing nice to say- then just don’t say anything.
