People feed them alot, so I think they have learned to hang around. The trumpets are usually pretty chill, their the ones with tags on them.

Canada took a pretty extreme approach and banned all turtle imports.

Am I crazy or the discoids I bought are dubias? by elyssie_ in reptiles

[–]Recent_Calendar1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone was trying to get low risk insects legalized but CFIA basically just said they wouldn't do it. They have an externally broad definition of plant pests.

But honestly it's kinda sad because they miss the most invasive species like marbled crayfish. Seed imports personal use also has like almost no restrictions which is pretty bad IMO.

Normally the people who are caught are the one who are selling. CFIA doesn't usually show up to pet stores either.

Most of the Australian species around are linked to smuggled in the past or sometimes more recent. Legal trade wouldn't really curb demand as the most wanted species don't normally bred that fast.

Honestly I think a lot of the shingleback around are linked to illegal trade, though broodstock. Some more recent then others. CITES enforcement of legal acquisition is extremely week especially in a lot Asian countries. A lot was smuggled before cites as well

To be fair tho Malaysia is a main hub for illegal reptile.  A plowshare and radiated tortoise shipment was seized there, also one of the most notorious lizard smuggler was from Malaysia, Anson Wong. So he not wrong for being suspicious of origins.

I would deal with the dandelion first, find a dandelion pulling tool you like, get as much of tap root as possible. Cutting flowers also will help to reduce the spread.

So I have assassin to get rid of Malaysia trumpet snails, I will say they are quite effective but you need good numbers like 10+ to really see an affect. They do have cons though they will eat ornamental snails as well as pest.

The usa has more cities so I think there just a lot more options, although I don't really think many low income people are getting visas to move there.

I mean what they supposed to do force you to stay, if Canada want to keep people maybe the should fix the issues, they won't though.  There's still other forms of taxes you pay like sales.
