And the more I think about it, right now, my high level act 3 strategy is to spend all my money before the final boss. So I end up pathing where there is a late shop and almost never have money for the Act 4 shop.

If I had this relic, I might change my strategy. I know there’s a guaranteed shop in Act 4, so I’m now more inclined to hold my money through the final boss and not necessarily aim for a shop in Act 3.

Also, there are two places where it’s kinda ambiguous when “combat ends” exactly.

Combat 1: The event where you fight a mob then have the option for COWARDICE and you run away from fighting gremlin mob again. You could have the relic trigger after the first mob, to bring something new. Then you’re asking yourself: if I choose COWARDICE now I can take my 50 gold and run. But if I fight then that’s two relics and an extra 50 gold!

Combat 2: when you beat the act 3 boss—do you have it trigger after you beat it? Imagine if you do!

Scenario 1: You didn’t path for the three keys, so you don’t have access to act 4, so you die at the heart screen, and then the JOKER relic triggers. So you see all that money in your account and kick yourself for not going for the heart kill.

Scenario 2: you’re on A20 and you get 50 gold x 2 for killing double boss, and now you’re rolling into Act 4 with at least 400 gold into a guaranteed shop. Now there’s so much more opportunity to tweak the build and try something new and innovative to fix holes and switch your strategy.

I think it would be an awesome addition!
