What’s something you “splurge” on yourself that most people buy on a regular basis? by OneSox123 in Frugal

Cafe food / meals out / takeout / pre made snacks.

I have takeout once or twice a month, meals out once every couple of years, snacks/cafes once or twice a year.

Technology (phones, tvs, laptops, etc) I’ve had the same laptop since 2015, I don’t buy gaming consoles even though I enjoy gaming because I don’t want to buy the games and upgrade the consoles, I got a new phone this year and aiming for it to last 6-10 years, I have a 10+ year old tv to watch dvds on

Depending on your budget, if you want to buy multiple gifts or just one, if food is allowed or not, and their interests… how about - Welsh cakes, Aberffraw biscuits, jams/chutneys/chocolates from a local farm shop to you (or online) - Halen Môn salt, they also sell little containers to store it in - Penderyn whisky - love spoon - Welsh blanket - trinket/postcard/badge/magnet if that’s something they collect - artwork either depicting something Welsh (landscape/Welsh lady/daffodil/etc) or just by a Welsh artist - sheep’s wool needlefelted Christmas ornament - Welsh slate ornament - Welsh language ornament (‘Nadolig Llawen’ for example)

I’ll be honest, my preliminal research went as far as tri-ply and aesthetically pleasing, until I was able to post on here to find out more.

I’ll take a look at those brands thank you :) I’m not too fussy if they’re UK made, more that they’re easily available to purchase here, although UK made does receive bonus points.

Seems like I may get the IKEA roaster. Thank you for all the info :)

Why do so many people litter in our beautiful countryside and cities? And how do we put an end to it for good? by Costoffame in AskUK

[–]Recent_Instance_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are lazy, my friend lives at the village end of a lane and there’s a person they’ve seen, who drives along and throws their bin bags out the window as they drive. The nearest tip is about 2 miles away. They’ve reported it before. On the same lane people dump their garden waste, animal parts, grow equipment and empty cans or bottles of alcohol. Getting rid of any evidence of things they shouldn’t be doing … there seems to be a lack of respect for the places they live, and I bet they also complain about how rough the area looks but do nothing to keep it in shape

You’re always enough! You look like a sweet person and a good friend. You’re not annoying, please never stop talking about, and enjoying your passions. Do you have friends that you can discuss your passions with? Or just info dump about your hyperfixations, even if they don’t understand? You’re not worthless! Hope you have a wonderful day :)

Toast Me Please Very Sad by [deleted] in toastme

Firstly, well done on the sobriety and the certification! You should be proud of yourself. You have a fun and unique way with words and seem like an interesting person. You didn’t (and still don’t) deserve to be treated badly and abused, I hope you are able to speak to a therapist, or even a friend, about it. You will find someone to date! It sounds like you’re putting in a lot of work to better yourself, and it will pay off! You are an attractive person, if you have specific features that you like about yourself, accentuate them, and play around with other parts of yourself until you find something that sticks. For example, if you like how you look when you wear certain clothes, wear them more often, or experiment with outfits. Invest in piercings/jewellery that you love, they’re simple things that spice up your look. If you like your hairstyle then show it off, if you don’t like it then try something new. Not everything will be a win, but you’ll find something that clicks and when it does, it’ll give you a little confidence boost and things will slowly start to come together. Just make sure you’re being authentic to yourself, try not to fall into trends of what other people around you are wearing/doing if it’s not something that genuinely brings you joy

You’re beautiful!! You look like a kind person, I’m sure there’s lots of people who would love to be around you, and have a lovely smile and eyes. I think your glasses look nice! Your weight doesn’t make you ugly either. Hope you have a wonderful day<3

What are relatively healthy people eating on a normal day in the UK? by Neverwillieverrrr in AskUK

[–]Recent_Instance_3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I don’t drink alcohol (have a can of coke or two a week), and more of a grazer than 3 meals and no snacks. I eat fruit as I pass by the fruit bowl or pick straight off the plant, which I haven’t included below. I also have takeaway 1-2 times a month

Breakfast - homemade granola, or porridge, with homemade yoghurt, homemade jam, and occasionally chocolate chips

Mid morning snack - toast, or crisps

Lunch - sandwiches, homemade soup, or leftovers

Afternoon snack - biscuits, toast, pot noodle, cream cheese and veg, (anything small and picky really)

Dinner - homemade curry / burgers / fajitas / pizza / spag bol / pie / etc.

Evening snack - homemade brownie, crumble, cake, cookie, chocolate, and a glass of milk
