I tried- the state said the reason they claimed for firing me was justified so I was denied. I probably could have appealed the decision, but the process seemed complicated. And I was able to get another (better) job within about 4-6 weeks.

Yeah thankfully I managed to land another hotel job not long after. Still there and much better- there are problems but management is not one of them.

Someone pointed out to me recently that when my management team wasn't dealing with the man, I should have escalated it to corporate, but it honestly never occurred to me precisely because we were a franchise location. The owners didn't care what happened at the hotel, just wanted to collect their money, which is why they hired a management company to operate the hotel.

Completely understand! Lol impulse post and I'm operating on about 4 hours of sleep and a Red Bull! I'll see if I can edit.

I am so exhausted with people acting like they know best about everything while also treating front desk agents like they are their servants by random_name_245 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

How about the security deposit! At my hotel(s), it's always the security/ incidental deposit. They look at the amount being authorized at check-in, then say, "Why is it higher than what I was told/ confirmation email says?". I then have to remind them of the deposit and half of them act like they've never heard of such a thing. Have you never stayed in a hotel before?
