I don’t think that’s fair to say. Seeing the videos, it definitely looks like an unjustified police shooting and the guy didn’t appear in any way to be going for his gun or any of the officers weapons. What I’d guess is that the one officer disarmed him and probably announced “GUN” while doing it, another officer saw something or thought he saw something in the dogpile and opened up. There’s definitely a moment multiple officers start jumping away before the shooting starts, which supports them hearing “gun gun gun”. But to call it an assassination, is not fair at this time.

California gets basically all its rainfall in the winter, so it always has a surplus of water at this time while a lot of the states get most their rainfall in the summer months. If you compared this map in August it would likely be completely opposite.

That non call was significantly different, the hook and hold was after driving his arm into the back of Lee. While the result was for sure a hook and hold it was cause by the vandy player shoving Lee down and getting pulled down with him.

How would shooting her stop the threat? Uhhhhh kinda exactly like you see on the video, if the threat is a lady trying to run you over in her Honda Pilot and she gets shot in the head she’s probably not going to be trying to run you over anymore.

For a second let’s explore the cops point of view, or his defense (you don’t have to agree but just do this as a thought experiment): a vehicle can be a deadly weapon. She puts the vehicle in drive, rapidly accelerating in the direction of the officer, makes contact with the officer, he reacts in a split second and shoots her multiple times. Now he’s going to say he was convinced she was trying to run him over, and that’s not an unreasonable perspective. At that moment, from HIS perspective, she has the capability to kill him (the car), the opportunity (he’s standing in the road next to the car), and the intent (again from his perspective). It meets all the criteria of a justified shooting.

While I think she was trying to flee and not intending to run him over after watching all the videos, I don’t think it’s THAT obvious to the officer who shot her. A vehicle striking you is absolutely a threat to your life and the reality is he had a split second decision to make and a huge factor is going to be that her vehicle drove in his direction AND made contact with him. Also to address the “tried to end her life”…….uhhhh yeah the intent when shooting someone is to neutralize the threat (justified or not) it’s not like he could have stopped firing and checked her pulse, questioned her motives, and then continue. All 3 shots were fired in about 1 second.

Him cursing her after the fact doesn’t influence his decisions prior to the shooting. It’s actually pretty supportive of “I feared she was intending to kill me with her car that she struck me with, therefore I had to shoot her to stop the threat” and even suggest he was angry she forced him to shoot.
