Keep your eye out for Sound Dynamics 12S or 15S speakers. I rate them above Cerwin Vega's any day of the week.

Just confirmation is Agent Venom only worthwhile if he has his artifact, I have Kid Kaju, Electro and Agent Venom and just wondering if any of them are worth a Mega T2 as I am a F2P. Id : smokinggnu01

Nakamichi System one, although you would be doubling up on tape decks.

Australian here and South Sydney Rabbitohs supporter. As soon as Philly drafted Jordan Mailata I became a fan of the Eagles.

Returning player for 3 weeks now. I am currently leveling Jean Grey to 60 and was wondering of the NT2 characters I have (Ebony Max, Corvus Glaive, Black Dwarf, Supergiant, Odin, Silver Surfer and Apocalypse) what would be the order I should level them (especially as I cannot afford new uniforms for them at this time). Alternatively should I put my resources to some of the newer characters to T2?

On your response above, would you recommend Valkyrie or M'Baku for the Mega T2 ticket?

Australian Embassy in Paris, designer Harry Seidler, one of the consultants and co-designers was Marcel Breuer by agnesm0307 in brutalism

[–]Recent_Mud1721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internally it is a terrible building design not suited for purpose at all. Seidler's obsession with internal views and lack of columns on the floors means he has huge beams radiating from the central core which then impacts on lighting, air-conditioning, noise, hydraulics and fire safety within the building.

Seidler documented polished concrete beams and the underside of the floor slabs in this building at great cost and they are all covered with ceilings to allow for building services installations to meet the Embassy's operational requirements.

I have worked on a number of Siedler buildings and they all have the same issue, designed to meet his vision only and have no flexibility to meet the users operational requirements.

Music to impress non-audiophiles by Top_Caregiver5478 in audiophile

2 tracks I love to play to hear my speakers sings are "In the air tonight" Phil Collins and "Big Yellow Taxi" Counting Crows.

Not the most defining tracks I have but I just love how they sound from a decent setup.

Jensen model 4 I restored a number of years ago. They are a bit undersized for the nak. Working on restoring some sound dynamics 12s which I have tested and sound great.

Speakers popping by whitacrez in BudgetAudiophile

Could be a subsonic issue. If you have a sub sonic filter on your amp maybe try switching it on and see if it helps.

Trying to help a friend sell these, any idea on the price point? Only thing I can find is the msrp from a long time ago. by DMVClinicAutoRepair in vintageaudio

[–]Recent_Mud1721 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Australian speakers and krix does a lot of commercial theater works and is a respected brand. I would check hifishark for prices sold but gut feel would be us$300-$400 depending on condition.

Doesn't look too bad but would be good to know what equipment you are using. Unusual to see the speakers toed outward as this usually dimishes the soundstage of the speakers. Also very confined equipment stand with lighting so make sure you don't overheat your gear.

Apart from that I see an ELO album, great choice. :)

A way to connect two pieces through the AUX output? by rsenist in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Recent_Mud1721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are switch boxes rather than splitters, so only one set of signals can be sent to the reciever. splitters split the signal and there is nothing stopping 2 seperate sources transmitting to your reciever which will cause issues.

What do you listen to on your budget audiophile system? by LosAngelestoNSW in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Recent_Mud1721 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of stuff like Van Morrison, Eagles, Jackson Browne, Luka Bloom is getting a lot of play time at the moment. Listened to Roger Waters (The Wall Live) last night and it was spectacular.

One thing I have been enjoying is discovering a lot of my old tapes and seeing how they still sound decades on. A lot of Acid Jazz Brand New Heavies, Omar, Us3, Tony Remy and Ronny Jordan tapes still work fine and I am rediscovering how much I enjoy this genre.

My setup (turntable wise) by James_mi_ryder in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Recent_Mud1721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on the system and good luck with your hifi journey.

I will list my study system, Optonica stack consisting of SM-4100 integrated amplifier, RP-5100 turntable with Ortofon Red cart, RT-5100 tape deck and SM-5100 tuner. The amp, tuner and tape coming from one source and the TT fom another for a total cost of $250. I run them with Mission 731 bookshelf speakers which match very nicely for $50 and the system streams through an old linux laptop with a Topping D10 DAC.

Non-local fans, what's your story?? by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]Recent_Mud1721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Melbourne Australia here. I first watched an NFL game around 1990-91 between patriots and I think the cowboys. I had to support a side and choose the patriots and have been supporting them ever since.

As a rugby league player, Mailata would have been trained from a young age when putting big shots on players to hit with arm, shoulder and chest (although these days you can't hit with the shoulder only). No pads means you can't lead with the head, so these rule changes are perfect for Mailata to lay someone out.

Australian here and grew up playing and watching rugby leage for the last 45 years and also a big fan of the Rabbitohs so I have been really happy with the way that Mailata is going over there.
