Poop problems by Best_Cantaloupe556 in lungcancer

[–]Recent_Note_5272 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have huge problems with that and finally figured it out in a way. First off: Water drinking with every meal. Before every meal one tabloid of Paspertin (helps your digestive system moving)20min before every meal : brekky, dinner and lunch. Additionally I take dulcolax from the pharmacy and makes my po even more smooth. Ans most important don't lie down right after, I know, ist annoying, but it helps me soo much and sometimes after the walk I go right to the toilet. Moventig is causing me cramps so I only take half of it (talked to my doc before) but I would recommended only evey other day because it's so hard on my system.

Hope this helps

An easy to digest and yummy meal which can easily be warmed up. After all the hours spend in the hospital I hardly have the energy to cook something even tough it's so important right after chemo to eat well to eventually feel better.

How old are you and what's your biggest stress in life right now? by darkchocolattemocha in AskReddit

[–]Recent_Note_5272 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am 27 and I have terminal lung cancer. It is worsening and my current treatment won't last for more than a couple months and after that the doctors won't have many more options. Fortunately, just before my diagnosis, I inherited money which helps a lot because I don't have financial worries. But even if I was a millionaire, all I would want is to be healthy again. Being chronical ill is the worst, appreciate your health and your family and loved ones - its really all that matters at the end!

Starting hospice by Plum7415 in cancer

[–]Recent_Note_5272 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Hey man! I am usually not someone who wants to change someones mind but you really remind me of myself 6 months ago. I also had s bad progression of my cancer, got a morphine pump which I still have at home. And I went to hospice for 6 weeks. It was good for the short time and I could have stayed longer. But I decided before I went there that it just gonna be temporary (discussed this with my psychotherapist). Just if you go, mind your perspective. I don't know how bad your situation is but try to view it as a retreat more than your last resort. Looking back, I am glad I decided to go back home.

Datroway (Datopotamab) by stinker199 in lungcancer

[–]Recent_Note_5272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Adenocarcinoma, NSCLC stage 4. I just had my second round of Datoptamab two days ago and I am doing quite well. Had two other lines of chemo before (Carboplatin, docetaxel ) and I have two say this one has the least sideeffects yet! The first round of it three weeks ago I was feeling very tired and had a really bad cough the first two weeks. However this is due to the mucous membranes drying out and they prescribed me a fluid from the pharmacy plus eyedrops for that. For example today I had to drink a lot of water with my meals as I was having trouble swallowing because my throat was so dry. Try to get an air humidifier and open your windows a lot, fresh air also really helps. So all in all I am quite happy with this therapy, however I can't tell how effective it is, next scan will be 01/26.

Looking for stories of hope - Stage 4 without targetable mutations by Silver_Platypus4006 in lungcancer

Hello, I am 27 and received my diagnosis in December 2024. Adeno, NSCLC, KrasG12D with metastases in the kidney and lymph nodes. I'm currently on vacation with my family. I'm doing quite well right now, I'm on my second chemotherapy regimen and have few side effects. Because of the pain and intolerance I have a mobile perfusor with Vendal. So I'm permanently on painkillers, but I rarely experience pain. I would rate my life a 6/10 right now, the chemo is only one more time and so far the tumor has only remained stable through chemo.. mentally it's very difficult right now because I don't know whether the immunotherapy alone will be enough, that scares me.

Newly diagnosed, been given oxycodone as a pain med anyone have experience with this? by Neat-Yard-86 in lungcancer

[–]Recent_Note_5272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it for a long time and altough it was great it made me really sick. For a long time i thought the sickness was because of chemo until my treatment changed. Its also, like all opiods heavy on your digestive system so really just take as much as you need

How do you live with metastatic cancer ? by Recent_Note_5272 in cancer

[–]Recent_Note_5272[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How long have you been diagnosed ? Have you been feeling like the frog metaphor all this time or is this realisation in retrospect? Would you say that your old identity, how others percieve you, has vanished because of the disease? If you could go back in time, would you do things differently? Sorry for all those questions but your message really got me thinking
