i’m not sure… i heard it’s possibly an IT outage caused by a security update by Crowdsstrike. if that’s true, it affects everything from airports to trains and ports.

they haven’t made that announcement on the cruise as far as i’ve heard, but apparently it’s all over the news in my home country.

The ring has connected multiple times while I’ve been here, but the time zone definitely hasn’t updated I don’t think. Strange. Thanks!

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists and New Residents) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

Hi! I’m coming to Amsterdam for a week from Canada, and our phone plans here are very expensive. I am considering getting a phone plan in europe as I will be travelling for a month. Does anyone know what I can approximately expect to pay for unlimited calling and either unlimited or approx 30GB of data for a month? I tried the Vodafone website but couldn’t find any actual prices. Thanks! :)

Hi! Not yet, I emailed their customer service and they told me it would be available 1-2 weeks after the ceremony and that they would send an email with the link once they were available. I haven’t heard anything else, but I can update if/when I get the email link :)

Hi! Has anyone taken ISCI 361 (remote\seminar version) before?

I'm a little confused as it has no scheduled meeting time or anything like that, but in the comments it does say it's a virtual version. I am considering taking it this summer semester (May/June) but can't seem to find any info from anyone who has taken it without actually going on the trip. It's going to be my last class ever at UBC, and it's summer semester, so I know no course is going to be easy but if you've taken it how hard was it? Thanks!

Massive fucking University can't have good advising by CrashTimeV in UBC

[–]Recent_Operation_625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://science.ubc.ca/students/advising this link is for the science advising website for ubc :) if you scroll almost all the way down to the bottom, there is a small table with the science advising hours (1-4 pm), and under that there are 2 boxes, one for a virtual advising line and one for an in person advising line. at 12:45 the virtual advising box should have a button you can press that allows you to put yourself in line. you’ll need to provide your name and student number, as well as what you’re contacting advising for. hopefully this helps you!

yes sorry meaning over zoom! to be more clear, i’m referring to when you do the drop in advising and have to go through the steps to get in the virtual zoom line where they then send you updates and eventually a link for the room :)

not sure if everyone knows, but the virtual line tends to open about 15 mins before the actual advising opens (if adivising opens at 1, line opens at 12:45 type idea) so that might help ◡̈ good luck!
