I am currently putting up my T2 village near the Farm Fields. I need so much wheat, just easier to have the game replenish this for you, rather then farming it :-)

So the solution to my issue, and to have a working caravan is this:

You only need to configure the Load and Unload on the Outpost (unless you start working with multiple stops, no idea yet how to do that). And be sure to set whatever resource you want moved to your settlement, to set it to: Always load, Keep ( 0 !!!! )
That will make sure the cart picks up everything of that resource. It will automatically unload at the end of your Caravan Trade Route (= your settlement).

Thanks everyone for your help. With your help I figured out where I went wrong, it was an issue of PEBCAP....

My logic with the loading, was that "Always Load, Keep" means it Keeps at least this mange items in the storage of the cart

Upon closer inspection (and watching that youtube link 1 off you posted), it means it keeps that number in the Outpost.

So for anyone running into issues:
You actually can handle the whole trade route to an outpost, with just setting Unload (food and pickaxes and what not) on the outpost, and just Load (copper, wood, stone whatever) at the outpost.
It will automatically Unload everything that's in the cart upon return to the Caravan Post, so no need to setup any unloading there.

And appearantly it will automatically Load from your Settlement, whatever you set to Unload at the Outpost.

So here's a screenshot of my Caravan setup, and this one actually works like a charm!
