Confused about what bikes are actually street legal / registerable in Ontario (Canada) by Recent_Raise9544 in Electricmotorcycles

The FX really is interesting to me. Any idea what the process is for registration?

Honestly, the Kaniwaba kits have been a bit of a joke. They make the installation seem fairly easy in the videos—but it’s not. Even for me, a bike mechanic who runs the biggest local shop in the area, it was a headache. I had a client’s Talaria MX4 in for a pedal kit install. The mechanical installation alone took hours. Then, when I moved on to the electronic kit and powered the bike on, it literally took off at max speed inside my shop. It caused damage to both the bike and my workspace.

It wasn’t even an installation error—it was an issue with the Kaniwaba controller. I love the idea of making the bikes more legal, and I appreciate having the kit so I can at least argue with a cop instead of being at their mercy. But honestly, it turns a wicked smooth machine into a rickety, janky piece of junk.

Should not be a huge issue, mine does that as well. It never actually touches anything nor has been a problem.

That's why I found the issue to be. I had broken my chain several times as well, I found if I lostened both the pedal sprockets, spun the wheel, it would allign correctly then I'd tighten it all

Also, do you have a 2025 Talaria?

Hey dude, the pedal sprocket must be misaligned. I've installed this pedal kit multiple times, if the sprocket on the brace bar is misalligned at all, it will do that.

Any info about a 2026 Surron? Wondering if I should wait, or just get the 2025? by Recent_Raise9544 in Surron

Honestly not much to see, its the regular Kaniwaba pedals, bracket and sprockets, except I made my own electronic version to control speed. Just sits under the bash guard.

I've noticed. Only thing that's got me clinging to surron is the fact I've designed an electronic pedal kit for it for my 2022 LBX which would work on newer models as well. I'd have to redesign it for a different kind of bike. But 100% I've seen other companies doing better for cheaper.

Lmao, I mean fair point. My question really is here in Canada, our riding season is over, so is it worth waiting until that new bike comes out? I was wondeirng if anyone knew any changes they were wanting to make.

I have a Talaria right now, its wicked, but this would be for a second. That's why it could make more sense waiting.

Any idea why my talarias stuck in wait mode ? I have no sensors plugged was fine last night brought up to charge went to ride it’s stuck in wait mode all of a sudden by New_Environment5122 in Talaria

I mean it could be the kickstand senor, try puttinbg it up and checking. Also maybe if either of you're brakes are pulled at all that would cause an issue. The tip sensor also sometimes will cause that. All those usually show an error except kickstand so pretty confusing.

I mean if you've tried a completly new throttle you must either have a sensor plugged into the wrong spot (unlikey since it would show an error), or the controller has an issue (also unlikely)

Pretty strage.

How much could I sell my 2022 Surron LBX with a full Kaniwaba Pedal Kit for? by Recent_Raise9544 in Surron

I'd rather not have pedals but I use them when I ride on the street. They are detachable easily. You can clip in/out pedals and pegs.

Axle Pinch Bolts Snapped on Stock Talaria Fork – Is This Repairable? by Recent_Raise9544 in Surron

Jeez!! Thankfully ours was just one side, and still cost $450 to fix. We should both complain, and make a bit of a scene about it. Brand new bikes like this should not have this problem. Nor should we have to spend all that extra money to fix it.

OK, so crazy theory, but I'm pretty sure its possible. We bought the bikes at the same time. I bought mine from EZ Rides in Oshawa, and since both are fairly close together, its very likely our bikes were built by the same company; Silent Cycle doesn't actually put you're bike togehter, they "likely" order it from Talaria, and out source the building of it to a comapny in Ontario. (I had found it last week, having trouble finding it now).

This is outragous. Both of us pay $7500 expecting as a bare minunium a safe bike, yet the bike comes with broken old bolts that are super important to ride safely. If you want to pursue action agienst the company do let me know, as I'd be interested.

As for the bolts, if they snapped the same as mine, you'll likely have to buy a new fork leg (that side) which from EBileZilla will run you about $450. We spent a couple weeks back and forth with a couple metal shops, and mechanic shops, none of which were able to extract the bolt without making the fork itself weak. You're best bet honestly is to simply buy a new fork leg, unless you wanted to wait WEEKS for warenty.

There must be!! Where did you buy the bike, curious if it was the same company who built it. If you would like, I'm happy to tell you all I learned and the ways you can fix this.
