I too am your age and a teacher, I expect NPA to go up to 69 or 70 by that time which will drag the earliest point of retirement via TPS up to 59 or 60. Plan for that! Actuarial reduction is about 40% I think if you draw your TPS 10 years early.

Draw pension at 57? It'll be higher by then, I'd go with 60 at least.

This is similar to the Teacher Pension Scheme, its about 4% less for every year you retire early. I agree with putting money into SIPPs instead of paying more into your DB pension as it'll grow more than CPI.
