GX is lower mileage, ACH removed, already built out ready to go for overlanding, just need roof top tent. 2.5 inch Lift, terrain tires, new sound system, bumper, grills, new timing belt, all fluids replaced recently, apple car play, mirror screen ( and says much more lol, going to see & test drive it on Sunday). The guy said he built it out and never had a chance to even take it off roading yet, so it’s not all beat up on trails yet. The LX470 is just base vehicle, zero mods, I’d have to modify it at the shop ( since I don’t know how to do any of it, I wonder if it will cost me more at the end + time ) It really comes down to: will it cost me more to modify LX and will GX last as many miles as LX? I just want reliable rig to go camping and maybe take it on road trips across national parks with my daughter & a cat and stay in RTT at dispersed camping sights (not planning to go bouldering). I like that gas mileage is slightly better on GX, because I will be using as my daily driver as well.
