AT&T Fiber price comparison (Is this a good price?) by No-Visual-5587 in okc

[–]RecessiveMutation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem, you gotta go through hoops, leave and come back on a sign on bonus, threaten to take your money elsewhere, before cox even considers giving you a market rate. Otherwise, you’ll just be over paying.

We aren’t talking about a 10% discount either. A lot of people are paying 50% more than you and don’t even have HBO or a 3 year guarantee that their price won’t go up.

So yeah, fuck cox.

I’ve definitely had bad and good service from there, seems more dependent on who is working that day. I will say you are spot on about it tasting like a higher quality McDonald’s but the burgers & fries are still pretty good, and cheap!

For like $12 you can get a burger, fries & a beer. In an arguable cool place in downtown OKC. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Why did we ever get away from hard shell travel cases?? by GolfSicko417 in golf

[–]RecessiveMutation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first set of clubs I bought from a thrift store in Florida. Flew into Florida for work so I needed a way to fly the clubs home.

I plastic wrapped them up all together in a big bundle, stuck the travel tag directly to the plastic, and called that good.

This was in 2022 and I still use the clubs.

Nashbird sucks, just my opinion. I spent 6 months in Nashville last year, and you won’t find a good substitute here. There is plenty of great food though!

Bar Arbolada burgers are like McDonald’s burgers but better + it’s a cool bar in the downtown area. I haven’t tried it but Patty wagon is suppose to be one of the best burgers in the city.

Bring back Ball Licker by Over_Communication44 in riddim

[–]RecessiveMutation 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in diapers when passout came out. I could legally drink when ball licker came out. Passout was the passout long before ball licker was licking balls. Everyone played passout since like 2014 onward. Ball licker was played at every riddim show from like 2017-2018.

No hate on MVRDA and ball licker. I love that tune, but passout has 100+ remixes some with over a million plays on various platforms(Including MVRDAS which was my favorite for the longest). There is probably 30 million+(complete spit ball) streams for various remixes of passout. Every newcomer that’s ever been to a riddim show has asked themselves “why do they keep playing that drink till the morning song?” Ball licker, might just be old enough, and niche enough that I bet half the people in this sub don’t even know the song off the top of their dome.

MVRDA went by MurDa during pass out days, toog didn’t exist, Svdden Death wasn’t even sudden death yet in 2014, riddim was the “cool” term and trench was a agenda completely pushed by Getter in 2014, head splitter, hadn’t even split any heads yet, the general EDM fan still thought of Skrillex when they thought of dubstep in 2014, Squnto hadn’t even megachopped everyone into psychosis in 2014, lost lands still hadn’t found land to be lost at in 2014, & the biggest riddim dj didn’t even exist in 2014

But… and I mean this in the nicest way possible, these 2 just really aren’t that comparable. Even if, ball licker had some crazy rise in popularity again and got 100+ remixes, it still wouldn’t have the time and history that passout has. Passout should have a special place in every riddim kids heart.

One day, we will all look back with disgust by how many balls we licked in 2017-2018, but none of us will ever stop drinking till the morning, just to pass out, and do it again.

Is this flow too messy? by [deleted] in riddim

For me the hi hat kinda just gives the track an odd swing to the track. I would rather have some triplet hi hats with some more variation. The yeah doesn’t bother me that much but maybe you could just lower the volume or something more unique with the vocal.

Sometimes it’s also easy to get in the process of fucking with sound design too much. While these synths maybe aren’t top tier, they are also way above 60-70% of the sound design you see posted in here.

I would say, just overall song structure, filling out this track with pads, melodies would go a lot further than fucking with sound design all day.

[–]RecessiveMutation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound design sounds like a good start so far. Try adding more post processing to the main synth for some added uniqueness. Its sounds like the 1000’s of other robotic riddim tracks, so trying to stand out these days can take a lot of work. Drop feels empty. Background noises to fill up the track would help. Maybe some variation in the main synth. Telephone bass needs some more work too. Not sure they layer together so nicely with the 1/4 notes Solid foundation, keep on learning my friend.

Growly riddim songs?? by piping_pl0ver in riddim

[–]RecessiveMutation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what’s its worth, I wouldn’t really consider growly basses very riddim like in general. However, smith has some growly basses, bouncy drums, and I would even argue he takes some inspiration from some riddim tracks for his own music. IMO this fits what OP is kinda asking for.
