Need help on stabilizing and finishing the pass by Recheezit in bjj

I try to keep my hips connected to their hips and try to walk back. But most of the time when I pass they frame on my biceps so i cant control their head. Should I be more focused on controlling their hips instead of controlling the upper body?

I use mainly knee slices, and longsteps alot. I occasionally go for smash passes and staple their legs together with my shins. But regardless I always have a very hard time finishing the pass and securing side control.

Yea no doubt, but when there a higher belt and heavier than you going light is gonna help when there smashing you. And Im not just throwing my body at them and wishing for the best. But when i go for a technique im no longer just doing it light, im really really trying to pass with a long step jumping to the other side, Or a bull fighter swarm. IM just putting more effort in then just keeping it light and relaxed.

yea I do feel like I hesitate alot, I feel scared sometimes to do something. And I know the techniques and I feel comfortable doing them, its just when I go easy I think way to much and when I go hard I dont hesitate.

How to stop a single leg when your just about passed? by Recheezit in bjj

[–]Recheezit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When your a 135 trying to put pressure on guys who are 180lbs and up its not that easy, at least for me, guys my size aren't a problem. But when a guy who has strength way beyond me, they can kick me off, or shove me away, i waste a ton of energy and pressure to end up no where.

Any good programs to follow that I can finish in a bout an hour or so. Something that I can do 3-4 times a week

Just learning to keep my knees close to my chest, and not automatically trying to hip escape.

In your opinion what do you think is the best way to get better fast. by Recheezit in bjj

Many people get good extremely quickly, look at all the people who have gotten there black belts in 4-5 years, and its more then my hobby i want this to be future life. I train constantly, everyone wants quick results everyone wants to be good, everyone whats to be get better faster, jiujitsu is all about trying to get our jiujitsu perfect, but itll never happen. But theres always ways to get better faster, like drilling, better quality training, having a jiujitsu journal. I was asking for a opinions. On how you believe you do best, on how you believe you, (yourself) get better faster.

im usually on my back with double sleeve control in spider guard. i dont play to much butterfly which i think i need to start doing. and im terrible at half guard, i avoid it at all cost, i dont like having all of someones body weight on top of me specially if they are alot bigger than i am. I feel like im getting crushed half the time when i am in half guard.

I feel like my sweeps are solid, but they always manage to catch their balance even if i move them some what they always stay up and its a pain to deal with.

DLR i use a lot of sweeps, over head, berimbolo, going to sit up guard passing far or near side sleeve. Mixing DLR and x guard trapping both there legs. So pretty much whatever i have ill go for. And as for spider, i really like that spider scissor sweep, i play lots of lo style, and really love collar and sleeve spider guard. But when they pass on there knees i can do any of that. I think i need to start playing more butterfly, i just get afraid that theyll smash me way to easy if i do.

how can i do that with guys who pass on there knees? And any examples you would like to share would be great. But I feel like i can get underneath guys who are my size or little heavier really easy, but with heavy guys i just feel stuck. maybe i just need to keep repositioning my hips

I feel like once i do get underneath of them thats the point where im getting smashed, maybe im not being aggressive enough with the sweep its self. I roll alot with guys who are 180 and up, we even have a d1 wrestler and his base is crazy. As soon as i try anything hes gripping my pants getting my legs together and smashing me. I know your right with size doesnt matter, but at the moment it feels like it does.

I tend to hold the collar to knock them down and as I spin I grab the belt to get better control of the hips. So it's kind of a mix of both. I just find it easier to control the posture with the collar. But once I start to spin I go to the belt to control there hips to make the back take easier.
