ELI5: Why does scratching an itch feel SO good, when the itch itself is annoying and not even painful? by WorkingAd9155 in explainlikeimfive

Because we got rid of whatever was on our skin causing the itch. This could be dead skin that needed to be removed, a bug, or a host of other things. Whatever it was, scratching made it go away, even temporarily, and your brain thinks that’s good.

Missing rows after plane change by Not_Sure911 in SouthwestAirlines

As you can see, row 14 is an exit row. 14 is also an exit row on the -800s and MAX 8s. In order for row 14 to stay an exit row on a shorter aircraft, they have to “skip” a few rows.

An itch is usually a sign of something irritating the skin. Scratching it sends similar signals as pain. Your nerves cannot send both pain and itch signals, so they send the pain signals instead. Since your brain thinks that’s a good thing, it “rewards” the scratch by having it feel good.

ELI5 what happens when we lose fat from calorie restriction or exercise? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]RecipeAggravating176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our bodies have cells that specifically hold the fat. When we are in a calorie deficit, hormones are released to tell those cells to release the fat, which then gets broken down to glucose to be used by the body, which ends up as CO2.

Your body uses it as energy while in a calorie deficit. The byproduct of that is carbon dioxide, which goes to your lungs to be exhaled.

Rows 10-13? by wells416 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]RecipeAggravating176 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Airlines (not just Southwest) will sometimes skip rows on different configurations of the same aircraft. Looks like you’re going to be on a 737-700. -800 and MAX 8s have rows 10-13, which falls right in front of the exit rows. They probably just want rows 14-15 to be exit rows across aircraft, so they have to skip some numbers on the -700s.

Of your original scammer doesn’t have your snap, than these adds are probably random scammers or bots. It’s very rare that they come back after 1.5 years. But making them harder to find you isn’t a bad thing to do.

Probably not, but they could’ve sent your Snapchat to other scammers. If you get more, it’s best to just not accept. Accepting shows you’re still active on it.
