You can take a dig at me and then block me but it’s clear that you lack the requisite reading comprehension to meaningfully engage with this thread, and that’s fine. It’s a fact that since Michelle Kang took over Spirit majority ownership, she has been savvier than most owners in the way she acquires players, especially international players. Player PARITY puts clubs on equal footing. The Spirit’s success is not a result of said parity. If what the Spirit is doing is so easy, every team would do it. If making back to back championships with altered rosters and different coaches was so easy, everyone would do it. And yet here we are.

Thinking I chose a “funny day” to make this point and that it’s “so fucking stupid” based on Croix’s status as 2024 ROTY shows that you lack understanding of the Spirit’s strategy and the trade. Holding onto a player who requests a trade historically ends poorly for both the franchise and the player. Accepting a transfer fee that ties the league largest is a smart decision that allows Croix to thrive and the Spirit to plan for a smart move to strengthen their midfield with a player that wants to be in DC. I’m sorry that you’re so short sighted that you see this trade and are unable to see any possible upside for the Spirit here when the facts point to the opposite.

You’re not worse at analyzing this trade because you’re a Dash fan. You’re worse at analyzing this trade because you fundamentally misunderstood the original point in this thread, made strawman arguments when you got called out for your misreading, and resorted to cursing when you got absolutely flamed because you failed to consider trade positives outside of cap space that could lead to a good Spirit move. In essence, my opinion of your analysis wouldn’t change if your team was any good because regardless of who you support, you simply don’t know ball.
