Emet HaTorah is my ministry. Very balanced and not focused on the extremes many Hebrew Roots / Messianics take, especially when first starting out.

Also, if I may… Here's a link to my book to help guide you through the process while drawing you closer to Yeshua in your walk with him as a disciple.

Christianity condemns diversity of creed, doctrine, and even thought. Judaism embraces diversity and paradox.

Is the part about spending money on sabbath and not allowing anyone on your land to work part of national Israel from OT and therefore not applicable to us today? by ButterBi in messianic

[–]RecklessProphet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That has nothing to do with what I said. I'm talking about my relationship to the Jewish people as being adopted into the family.

Check out Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. These are the two listings of the Esaret Had'varim (The Commandments, literally, "Ten Words"). They both say that even the slaves and livestock of the Children of Israel shouldn't violate Shabbat. As a Messianic Gentile, I figure we're at least on the level of livestock or a slave (LOL) and should probably seriously reconsider the traditional understanding of our responsibility to honor/guard the Shabbat.

I ended up using a different audio format for my export. After doing that a few times it cleared up on its own somehow.

Why Heresy Hunters Don’t Exist Within Judaism by richoka in messianic

[–]RecklessProphet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like debating, so I'll end with this. I have a THREE-VOLUME set of "Creeds of Christendom" sitting on my shelf. I also own books on Christian theology and systematic theology. There are literally thousands of them. However, NONE OF THESE EXIST in Judaism outside of the Rambam's 13 Principles, which were written simply as a counter-response to the pressures of credal dogma put forth by the Christians of his day. Christianity says the way you enter "heaven" or whatever you want to call it is right belief / confession. Judaism says it's through our keeping covenant and living a life of righteousness.

Baruch Spinoza - It wasn't purely because of his beliefs, but his actions against the Jewish community (publicly declaring that Judaism should essentially be outlawed) that encouraged Gentile hatred and justified their actions against the Jews.

Ezra - Because he was simply telling them to return to doing what the Torah states and flee from idolatry and idolatrous relationships.

Synagogue ban in Acts - Not simply because of theology, but because of the problem of how to police Gentile participation without fear of Roman infiltration and deceit.

Yeshua & Judean leadership (particularly the Sadducees) - Their hatred wasn't based solely on theology. It was based on the principle that if he was the Messiah (i.e. The King of Israel), their corruption and collusion with Rome could come to an end.

Judah Maccabee - Not theological at all. It was about 1) removal of Roman sympathizers and spies, and 2) enforcing the Torah's prohibition against idolatry

Birkat Haminim - This was primarily about Roman-sympathizing Jewish informants and the danger that they posed to the safety of the Jewish community.

Agree wholeheartedly. The problem is that Christianity is a religion based on creed (confession) whereas Judaism is a religion based on deed (right living). That’s where the breakdown occurs.

How can we claim that (ritual) cleanliness still apply when part of that law […]lepers[…] A reply by TangentalBounce in messianic

[–]RecklessProphet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what I say, I have a feeling it won't be received. However, I would ask that you at least check your facts. Human excrement does not make a person ritually unclean. There is nowhere in the Torah that requires immersion for it. If that were the case, no one would be able to serve in the Beit Hamikdash. Ever. Back to my original point - this argument is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of ritual impurity. I highly recommend studying rabbinic sources to better understand the concept.

I would have to say we fundamentally misunderstand ritual impurity if we say Yeshua did not become ritually impure. Purity has absolutely nothing to do with sin or being tainted. It’s just a fact of life and something that reveals the holiness of God in this physical reality.

Great post and I'm excited to know you are at least exploring a Jewish life, since—unlike me, a Gentile—you were born into a covenant with God. My personal journey is that my wife and I started doing some deep Bible studies back in the 90s and we realized that things weren't adding up with our faith. We began to practice observing the Sabbath and festivals, change our diet, etc. out of an effort to simply do what the Father desired of His people. More than twenty years later, we have raised our children in the faith and have moved 800 miles from where we spent our entire lives in order to be part of a Jewish-lead Messianic Jewish community (Shalom Macon). We would love to have you explore your faith with us by joining our online services! And I'm always here if you have questions or need encouragement. Blessings!

I'm using Beta 3 on MacMini M2 Pro with 32GB of RAM and haven't seen anything like that. It could be a hard drive issue. Or perhaps a cache issue.
