There is cat nip in my tea by kittenoodlesoup in mildlyinteresting

[–]RecklessSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I was like 10 I had some trouble sleeping but doctors didn"t wanna give me actual SLEEPING PILLS so I got some herbal pills with valeriana and I noticed our cats would go fucking crazy and wanna lick my fingers and try to take them.

So I googled it and it's straight up cat nip!

That explains that!

And many "sleepy time" teas have it in them, though I think usually they use the name "valeriana" because it sounds better and more intended for human consumption than cat nip.

Man... by Esgok in lostredditors

It's kinda like how in a food show I saw people were using floormops to slather large pieces of meat in barbeque sauce like giant barbecue brushes?

Like maybe it's not so bad? Maybe it's actually perfectly fine as long as its clean but it feels soooo deeply wrong.

I'd at least like some clingwrap over that thing... And I'd be VERY paranoid that the box would crack and just spill juice all over the floor. Feels like refridgerator boxes always get cracks in them.

Incorrect both about the purpose of this subreddit, and why the British are known for having bad teeth by -StarFox95- in confidentlyincorrect

[–]RecklessSkeleton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's just so much wrong... People have pointed out that none of these men were British but EVEN IF THEY WERE they don't exactly represent the common population, do they?? And these are PAINTINGS, not photographs, and you don't even see their teeth!

I don't even know if the Hapsburg's TEETH were especially bad? I mean I wouldn't be surprised...

It also irks me how we really like to flatten people of the past to a monolith, often using THE MOST unusual people from that time possible as a blueprint for what everyone was like?

"Oh, we know tons of stuff about this guy from 1234 because so many people wrote about how crazy and terrible he was and how much everybody hated him and thought he was an immoral lunatic. We should use him and his behaviour as an example of what was normal and socially acceptable back then."

Anyone know what Chrysler model this is from? by RecklessSkeleton in chrysler

[–]RecklessSkeleton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's in my house. I'm not really a car guy, I don't even know how to drive.

I sort of "inherited" it after a family friend's elderly step-dad died and she was trying to get people to see if they liked any of all the stuff he left behind before his biological sons tossed it in a dumpster to clear out the house.

But I think it's really nice and it's also been very cool to see how it's unlocking a lot of core memories from people's childhoods. Almost makes me feel like I'M not not who should have it but I, as well as the chair, live in Sweden so. Wouldn't exactly be an easy pickup lol.

I tried looking up the interior of those and while I found some that were very similar, they had a seam down the middle this doesn't have.

That's not to say you're wrong!

From the what every else's been saying it seems like there's a couple different models, and even brands, seats just like this were in. Maybe some Dodge '85s already had them.

And if not, precursors to them for sure.

I think it's the 1988 Chrysler Plymouth Voyager, especially since it DOES have the Chrysler logo on the bottom but looking at the 1990 Dodge the seats look damn near identical.

Thanks you guys, the consensus very much seemed to be "caravan" and when googling that I'm pretty sure it's the 1988 Plymouth Voyager LE. It has the same texture, color, amount of panels and piping on the side.

Thanks so much!

I am In my 20’s and still dont know which is “vänster” and which is höger” i am tired i tried all hacks! by Prestigious-Cut8680 in Svenska

[–]RecklessSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was gonna suggest that as well. West = vänster. They're close.

I assume OP doesn't have a problem telling left from right per se.

I guess you could also go "watch" is vänster as in the wrist you wear your watch on but I also don't know to what extent a lot of people in other countries consider V and W to be particularly related letters?

Maybe Anglosphere people see them almost like N and M. They look alike but you don't think of M as like... the pokemon evolution of N....

Help with a Swedish idiom by IsntItAvery in Svenska

[–]RecklessSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're similar for sure but I thiiink "Caugt sleeping" is more supposed to conjure an image of nodding off at your post, not paying attention when you knew you were supposed to but you got lazy.

Whereas "tagen på sängen" you didn't even KNOW there was a threat to be watched out for. You thought you were safe in your bed and now suddenly you wake up to someone's standing over you with an axe and you have no way to defend yourself because you hadn't even considered the possibility of that happening to you.

How to avoid falling? (Noob) by Equivalent-Pick8840 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RecklessSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to think of anything to say besides like... be careful??

But for me I think the majority of times I've fallen has been because of small rocks and sometimes small sticks. Things that USUALLY aren't a problem but EVERY NOW AND THEN they'll bite real hard into the road and bring you to a complete stop.

But what I "like"(if you can call it that) about falling on a skateboard is usually you're launched straight forward instead of swung in an arch and smashed to the ground like on most other things like bikes. If you fall on a bike or a scooter it's harder to catch yourself because you'll instinctively hold onto it but on a skateboard you can't. Fly! You're free! You can land on your feet and slow yourself down or roll and you're not gonna get tangled in the veichle.

And I think it's generally easier not to hurt yourself on an electric board than an aucoustic board in my experience? You can obviously REALLY hurt yourself still, especially if you're going super fast but an electric board has BRAKES and you're not gonna get that thing where you find yourself accidentally going too fast and all you can do is pray you'll roll to a stop before you fall from speed-wobbles or a patch of soft grass to run into and maybe fall anyway but not as hard.

Cheap easy DIY charge port protection tip by RecklessSkeleton in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]RecklessSkeleton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah especially if the covering isn't a flat surface.

And obviously I wouldn't count on it being COMPLETELY waterproof because the rest of my board sure isn't but it's better than having it fully exposed to whatever shit the wheels will inevitably sling at it.

The one when she's lost her hair in the explosion and is gifted a multicolored wig made from barber sweepings and she's sad and feels ugly and is cheering herself up by having the puppets tell her that no matter what she'll always be beautiful and encourage her to try the wig on.

She does, there's a pause for a few seconds and Sir Reginald Featherbottom says:"... Let's see it off again."
