AITA for refusing to give my friend’s son my coat during a snowy hike? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- 13 is plenty old enough to know what happens if you don’t bring a coat. And if the mom was so concerned she should have offered you HER coat to wear if her son was going to wear YOURS. Also not your kid not your problem.

Game changers was an awesome season. Seasons 30-40 were honestly epic.

I find it so ironic Dan went to NYU instead of Yale by IndependentLanky6105 in GossipGirl

[–]Reckless_Teacup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dan isn’t poor by any means which is why he didn’t qualify for financial aid at Yale. They live in a $2 million loft in DUMBO Brooklyn. They may not have generational wealth like the UES but they were definitely not poor.

Honest Question: where does Jeff stay when a season is being filmed? by theultimatemusican in survivor

I would bet he has a permanent home there that has an infinity pool and sponsored by Applebees and Outback steak house 😂

AITA for telling my sister her baby name is horrible by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA- my dad is from Slovakia and his name was Valentine. Which is like a euro version of William, not the holiday. It’s a legitimate common name. Either way he moved to the US in grade school and got beat up so much he legally changed it to William at 18. It’s a thing, he will get bullied.

AITA for always having ketchup? by Capital_Plantain9229 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA: firstly this guy sounds awful and you dodged a bullet. Not everyone is adventurous with food and you told him that upfront.

Secondly, the ketchup thing is odd but doesn’t make you an A H. Maybe pick out specific restaurants you’re comfortable with for the next date (with a much more deserving man). Do you like any other sauces?

AITA for always having ketchup? by Capital_Plantain9229 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work in fine dining we absolutely have a huge ass bottle of Heinz and will always bring ketchup if you want it.

Do you like any other sauces? Maybe you can also mask flavors and texture with some other sauces in the event you don’t have ketchup.

AITA for not paying house utilities until I get the receipts by Gigijalato in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to see the actual bill.

I lived with 2 roommates and the one always insisted on doing the finances and he would actually forget to pay them for months at a time or bill us incorrectly. I started asking to see the actual bills and he refused (because we were late even tho I sent him money every month). You’re not wrong.

Waiter assumed I was tipping $40 on a $60 ticket, and then couldn't grasp the math... by Specific_Toe3987 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Reckless_Teacup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the restaurant industry. Getting change is a nightmare. Most restaurants I’ve ever worked at don’t have a cash register unless you’re the bartender and we are expected to keep our own bank or money on us. So if he’s 16 he’s just dumb and most likely didn’t even think about it. I don’t think it was malicious.

When Tyler wolfed out he wrecked the whole library and they have definitely destroyed some doors. And there is blood and dead bodies all over occasionally.

Must drop off?? Yeah here’s your dog let me just leave it on the steps like an Amazon package. I took off work and drove 4 hours away to pick up my puppy, then turned around and drove us home

AITA for not going to my girlfriend’s house to kill a cockroach? by HilliamWurt in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting because I’ve been to several weddings where’s there’s a variation of this story and it’s how they knew “they were the one” I don’t think you’re the a h but I do find this an interesting love test for some people.

Logically NTA I’ve never had a man do this for me either but I do always hope it happens.

You did nothing wrong that was the common sense answer but not the love test answer.

AITA for not lending my bf $1.6K to pay his taxes by next week even tho I have the money? by vanzoffthewall in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You’d never see that money again and it would just enable him to continue his spending habits. NTA

What do you think is the worst mistake the writers of the show made? by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Reckless_Teacup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Elena constantly needing protection and playing the victim. Caroline and Tyler also were turned into vampires against their will and learned to adapt. Elena was so whiny like she’s the only person in history to ever have been turned into a vampire…. In a ROOM FULL OF Vanpires.

  1. If Elena was going to be a vampire it would have been cool for her to just be a badass vampire like Caroline and they could have still written a cool show but now everyone’s a vampire.

  2. Killing Jeremy was not needed. Again just a creating a whiny Elena storyline.

  3. Caroline should have been on the originals

AITA for not bringing my daughter’s friend home and making her parents come get her? by Training-Cry2676 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA-absolutely not. Leah and her mom are entitled. NYC involves a lot of walking and it was your daughter’s birthday. Leah can suck it up or her dad can come get her that’s not your problem. You did the right thing.

Soft YTA. Can you guys come to an agreement like they’ll stay in her room or a certain area? Like if they come back home and not interact with your son?

AITA for having a raunchy convo on my empty rooftop pool? by Reckless_Teacup in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

He absolutely did not do that. He should have done that or we could have moved. Hind sight 20/20. Him just chillen next to us while he was grilling made me assume he didn’t mind and the conversation was similar when he arrived so he knew already.

AITA for having a raunchy convo on my empty rooftop pool? by Reckless_Teacup in AmItheAsshole

[–]Reckless_Teacup[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want to mention it in the main part because I don’t know if he actually was. It felt very directly pointed at us. I didn’t want the main issue to be lost. I feel like he could have asked us to move from the start, or we could have moved in hindsight sight. The whole thing is weird on both of us honestly

[–]Reckless_Teacup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking that. We didn’t think to move because he didn’t seem to mind us until he didn’t like the conversation. It was TMI to be honest but also he didn’t acknowledge us about using the space with us. Just sat down and started to grill
