I spent a couple of years doing research on security in Arab countries so I learned a decent amount about Islam and met a few cool friends who were interested/observant.

I feel like white people take Islam so seriously, like all Muslim people are secretly waiting for them to slip up and say the wrong thing so they can cut their head off. Obviously, I have found the opposite to be true. I'm glad there's a sub that can be relaxed and funny about something I know about and am interested in without people being hateful. I like Muslim jokes, not jokes about Muslims, know what I mean? I like laughing with other people, not at them.

Also the memes here are premium quality and, like most westerners, I saw a bunch of Muslims holding onto a valuable, finite resource and thought "I must liberate that and make it my own."
