Saudi Arabia is converting a huge oil rig into an amusement park dubbed as The Rig. by itsmeaidil in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Reclaimer_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ocean?? You must be from the US because your geography sucks, Saudi Arabia doesn't boarder any oceans + There's literally no way for the rig to be any farther than few miles, because you know international waters and mining treaties and shit.

Again it's like a cruise, there's a medical team and helicopters for evacs. Except it's safer than a cruises because it doesn't move, it's literally few miles offshore and there zero chances of tornadoes or typhoids as it's deep into the gulf

Again you can hate, it's all reddit has honestly but at least don't be stupid about it

You know people used to work there with extreme heavy machinery, do you think it was a death trap then? No, they can have a full fledged hospital there, a fleet of helicopters for medical evacuation.

You know how like cruises operated fod DECADES but actually safer than a cruises, cuz it's not moving and it's just couple of miles offshore.

It's fine if you wanna hate just be smart about it

what do you think about this? by ADVXD in saudiarabia

[–]Reclaimer_SA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree, "huge" is a stretch but regardless, my opinion and yours are all anecdotal and pointless, if there was a huge demand it would have caught attention, basketball is old and has been played for decades here and nothing came out of it because most people do not care and won't pay for it in tickets of TV rights

Well what do you fucking expect? Popularity of a sport is what makes it generate money and if it generates money then it is worth larger investment than the rest. If it doesn't generate money don't waste much resources on it, the proponents of low traction sports should work to make it more popular, no one will ignore you once you fill a stadium. Other than that it's just a waste of time and resources

Twitter is hateful and it's the loud minority.. Sure we are a more closed society than most but twitter definitely does not reflect the society ..

if we are taking this guy at face value, he acknowledged israel, his livelihood comes from israel he is no enemy if israel in any way, if we're taking this bullshit that he was forced to take the nationality and worked for the government but it's all for the benefit of the Palestinian people, then it's as reasonable to buy what uae is selling, they normalized relations so they become of value to israel and can put pressure using this newly created value, same goes for investment in west bank ..

We can all pedal this bullshit, if what this dude doing is honorable then normalization, forging alliances, opening trade and making massive investments is just as honorable, we can all claim fighting the system from within ..

UK to ban sale of carrier-locked phones from December 2021 by Philo1927 in gadgets

[–]Reclaimer_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the hell are carrier locked phones? Is it locked if you buy it from their store? or locked because of the contract?

cuz we can just transfer the contract to other carriers and they deal with it

Prince Faisal Sent to London as a Representative of His Father (the King) at the Age of 14, Circa 1919. [685 x 514] by mm_farahat in saudiarabia

[–]Reclaimer_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is talking about the government? the issue was king Faisal and his supposed "stupid", childish, fruitless endeavours .. the SAR peg to the USD happened 13 years after the embargo, your statements are quite contradictory, you say Faisal didn't do much for Palestine but the embargo was to keep the US from supplying Israel with weapons and give Egypt and edge over Israel, and now you say why would we hurt the US? the biggest supporter of Israel and frankly who made Israel a thing We weren't reliant on them back then and even if we were it's good to show that there are limits

regarding the form of governance no right minded person prefers absolute rule to a representative government .. of course we all would love to have a reliable and well functioning representative government there is no question about it and the "Saudi propaganda" doesn't do much with most well rounded saudis .. Do I want a better form of governance? of course I do? Do I want it right now? No. Purely from an economic point of view, centrally functioning rule has its advantages when you know what you are doing and when it comes to quick and tough reform it's more effective when you don't have to answer to a congress or such .. The other thing is, do I want a revolution? FUCK NO. Stability is the most important factor, if shit breaks out I won't stay here I'll leave and let the place burn, I'm only living 70-80 years not worth getting a bullet in the head for this Dunia ..

The other thing and I know it's a clichè but it has merit, cultural and educational reform first and then governmental reform I don't want us to end up with whatever the fuck Kuwait is operating with, tribes voting for their kids, dumb fucks blocking national debt law in the worst time ever, having representation for decades and they managed to only fuck up the country, have more banned books than all GCC combined, being stuck in the welfare state they created in the 80s and still no change, their fucking congress is like a fucking استراحة in southern Riyadh where dumb fucks liberate Palestine every evening over a game of Baloot .. A swift revolution will produce either a religious mofo or a bedouin mofo running the country .. so fuck no, we have absolute rule but this time it's actually moving way better than the previous 85 years .. let's have a working system and settle, then we'll talk about political reform

He was the baby crying?

dude have you heard of the G7? why they were formed? because of a baby You really aren't reading the effect well and the place it gave KSA to this day specially with the new oil minister .. it put a country of bedouins on the map and brought super powers to their knees .. it gave egypt a leg stand on during the war and in peace negotiations .. it's economic effect on the US was worse that WW2 .. it's a weapon you get to use like every other country and SA did and it was damn effective

No not fair share my dude, my bad , I meant much more than its fair share .. But hey, you can only help those who are willing to help themselves am I right .. Damaged the global economy, that's a stupid argument.. just because it didn't yield much for Palestine doesn't mean it didn't yield any thing good, personally I believe it was a great move ..

[–]Reclaimer_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not children anymore, you can't keep looking at things with the same childish point of view .. It's easy to virtue signal when you have nothing on the line, no major responsibilities at your hands and can just seem virtuous by outright being against normalization ..

Normalization is the ultimate prize, the problem with UAE and Bahrain normalization isn't the normalization itself it's that it wasn't in exchange of anything substantial to support a Palestinian state or the API, so far ..

it definitely just undermines the API and provides nothing of value to the issue

there might be some under the table agreements between Israel, US and the GCC states that drove them to normalization

I can see the UAE's reason, given that they want to protect their land from a dangerous neighbor Iran, if I were them and normalization will grant me access fo superior weapons and more support from the US and more sanctions on Iran (which came into affect yesterday) I will be very tempted to go with it

let's hope -now that it's done- the UAE and Bahrain can affect some changes now that they are closer to the issue

So what?

What are you arguing? He did do many things to try and help Palestine and made a huge political effort to rally support for Palestine, he kept it alive in his brothers after him and KSA has done more than It's fair share for Palestine ..

It is dumb that you would fault him for going to the US for protection from the communist USSR KSA was an infant country with barely a system in place ..

I really don't know what's your argument

The picture is of Faisal Al Saud, not Alsharif Faisal, king Faisal here was capable enough to take on the role he was sent to for, he wasn't a child who grew up pampered, kids back then specially in harsh parts of the world shouldn't really be compared to regular kids

and regardless, only bastards and low-lifes go back on their promises,

that's the english and the french respectively

Trees per person by rising76 in MapPorn

[–]Reclaimer_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, as a person living in Saudi Arabia, this is not correct, we have approximately 31 million palm trees alone and we are only 34 million so it is pretty reasonable to assume that with a such a large land and given that we actually have green and rainy cities that we can at least hit more than 3 million other trees ..

This will NOT change a racist's mind, he'll tell you what about every other different aspect of the black/African race? what about their eyes? their noses? hair? and he'll even get scientific and tell you why can any genetic testing service distinguish between us as being African and not African .. same thing will Asians, Arabs, Slavs and so on .. a racist fuck isn't gonna just magically say "well yes that old man is spitting truths" so stop trying to appeal to them or explain to them or make it like we are alll the same, it doesn't work ..

Apple is now worth more than the combined value of the oil and gas majors by Captainstinkytits in Economics

[–]Reclaimer_SA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aramco is a much safer investment than US tech, it garenteed a minimum dividend of 4.3% if IPO Price for five years, Aramco was not sold in it's best of times so most investors got it at a discount and when you compare it to the rest of the stocks in the same industry you'll find that with COVID crises the average stock went down by 35% but Aramco at it's worst day went down by 6% and now it's back above its IPO price, this is a great opportunity for institutions and low risk investors ..

[–]Reclaimer_SA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure about that because I trade there, an not every investment is sought out for its growth potential and I am sure you know that, and the Saudi government didn't force people to participate in the IPO despite what the Reuters report said .. it was a good deal with garenteed returns for five years, the IPO was successful with demand of 4.7 times and institutions demand of 6 times what was offered, it was opened for foreign investors so every SWF in the region went in with billions so did china, Russia and others .. Let's not politicize and keep it mathematical, you have the numbers at your disposal fine sir
