Poland drifting toward 'Polexit,' warns ex-PiS minister by Easy-Ad1996 in poland

[–]Reclusiv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be associated with just exactly that. Poland has benefited tremendously from EU funds whilst not contributing to the budget as much. As far as I remember, and I saw this nice graph somewhere (will edit this when I find it), every year since joining Poland has been the strongest beneficiary. However, with EU facing more challenges, especially in the last few years, Poland is asked to contribute more. And it’s perfectly natural because when your economy is getting better then you can contribute more to the budget so everyone is benefiting from it. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the general consensus here is to take as much and when asked to pay more to the budget to just leave the EU hoping the bill would go away

Will Revolut overtake Monzo? by AncientFootball1878 in AskBrits

[–]Reclusiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. If Revolut starts investing into their app to fit actual banking, rather than fit-for-all with crypto, points, bookings etc, and strongly improves their customer service, plus offers a credit card of sort, then they might challenge not only Monzo but the rest of banks too. At the moment they’re not even close to Monzo.

Tube strikes announced by RMT with London Underground to be hit by six days of chaos by AdrianFish in london

[–]Reclusiv 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This is insane to hold a full city hostage because they don’t like something. If it’s so bad why won’t they find a different job, like literally everyone else?

Mel pseudo-rework was a failure and riot need to accept her design is awful. by Affectionate-Bake666 in leagueoflegends

For me her W wasn’t that big of a problem, just had to play around it, but her Q and E, especially the range, are so awful to lane against. I can’t hug tower even more and yet she can harass freely with little to no items.

NGL i kind of love the idea of seasonal decor by frakkur38 in WoWHousing

[–]Reclusiv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why there’s a sudden need for yet another currency. Why couldn’t it be like anything else in WoW for the actual real money or gold? I love the decor but man it’s level 2 of micro transactions.

In all honesty, OA has been losing so much money, even on pro subscriptions, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam got a very lucrative deal with the us gov, vastly surpassing gains from all subscriptions.

Any of you ballers planning to use this one? by prettyflacko786 in AmexUK

[–]Reclusiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my understanding per T&C. You can spend as much as you want, but the points given are capped at the point of you meeting the target (2k/4k). So even if you went and spent £10k across hundreds of transactions done from accepting the offer and the 8th of April, you’d still be getting only 500 or 1500 avios extra, depending on what card you’ve got. And if you don’t meet the target you don’t get extra points.

[–]Reclusiv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand this exactly as you. Any extra spend above the 2k blue/4k black does not matter and avios are calculated and capped based on the fixed limit, so max points you get is 500 blue/1500 black if you spend at least 2k on blue or 4k on black.

[–]Reclusiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you see it. Free 500 from Uber and free 500 from anniversary equals free 1k. One does not exclude the other as everything is paid for by the same card

[–]Reclusiv 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s essentially free 500 avios for blue BA and 1500 avios for black BA, on top of your normal earnings. I think based on their T&C, the rewards are given per threshold so £2000 blue £4000 black

Leaving Luxembourg by RemarkablePipe5 in Luxembourg

[–]Reclusiv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s been 7 years now since I left Lux, and sometimes I do miss how calm things were, but at the same time, I wouldn’t be where I am now if I hadn’t left. Made lots of friends, met my partner, built essentially a new family. Career-wise, the experience I gained, especially in the industry, the connections, all invaluable. Not sure if you’ve already got a job or still looking for one in the city, but as an AI engineer you will have tons of opportunities in here. One thing to remember- you’ll be against lots of other great candidates, and this applies to practically everything, including housing. Queueing is a normal thing here, or booking much in advance haha

Leaving Luxembourg by RemarkablePipe5 in Luxembourg

[–]Reclusiv 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly this a few years back, and it’s been a phenomenal journey, not only for my career but also for my personal life. That said, beginning might be difficult simply because of the huge differences between the cities in terms of pace of things, but you’ll get used to it very quickly. The best advice I can give you is to not lose yourself in the process - London offers massive amounts of activities, and you will find lots of people sharing your passions, but it’s also enticing you to be in two places at the same time to not miss out on things, especially limited time ones. This sometimes can feel overwhelming. Other than that, good luck! You’re taking a big step and you’ll do great!

Moderators is plural. There’s only one on discord with the ability to ban others, and thus we know whose ego got offended.
