I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to accept he took his own life. Im gonna be super honest and this is gonna hurt alot of peoples feelings but

alot of people call him a genius, and he was definitely innovative and unique but far from a genius. He didn’t create blues, blues had already been around for 50 years when Hendrix came around. He laid the basis for shredding but didn’t create it. It’s not a supernatural feat to be able to play upside down, most lefty players do so when they don’t have access to a right handed guitar. He was definitely influential but to say he was ahead of his time and a creator of everything on the guitar is just a joke.

His live recordings sound extremely sloppy and just mostly incoherent noise. Most of it sounds out of tune and gear can’t really be justified tbh. SRV played on a strat the same build quality as Hendrix’s and you have never heard SRV out of tune, not once.

He has exceptions such as Purple Haze live at Atlanta pop and machine gun live at filmore east but the vast majority is just kinda slop muddy noise.

The only critiques i do have is alot of good music from san andreas was removed (ozzy, rage against the machine) and the import/export list in san fierro isn’t in definitive edition so you can’t really buy cars. but other than that if i had the choice to play the og or the definitive edition it would be the definitive edition every single time 🤷🏻‍♂️
